That's strange.

But there is an easy work-around:
Do you have write access to the game folder? If not, you can ask your administrator to create a symbolic link from
...bin\FSDKBA071\mtil\My Games
to your profile "My Games" folder. This will create an invisible bridge between both folders, Homm5 won't notice that something has changed.

Symbolic links can be created using Junction:

Rewire basic Information

May I asked about the Hero's knowledge ? What is it use for ? Since spell power is to provide damage to Hero's casting, knowledge would provide more mana and number of spell that hero can be learn, isn't it ?

Yes it gives you more mana, but not new spells. Without any magic skill, you can only learn level two spells. with basic magic, you can learn level three, advanced, level 4 and expert magic, level 5.

and you regenerate mana faster with knowledge(all mana if you stay the night in a city with mage guild

Thank u alot Guarder ^^. BTW the mage guild you've said means all kind of magic guild lev 5 or an Academy's building ? I suppose the first meaning, isn't it ?

Yes every town with a mage guide build(level 1) About the spells, each town specially on two magic types, but you probably know this fro before:
Haven: light and dark
Sylvan: light and destructive
Academy: Light and summoning
Inferno: Dark and destructive
Dungeon: Summoning and destructive
Necropolis: Sumoning and dark
Fortress: light and destructive(and runes)
Stronghold: Warcries

I have a question about TotE

I read its a stand-alone game.  So does it not need original Heroes 5?  Also does it include all the content from HoF?  I'm just a little confused because it is being described so oddly.

It does not require any of the previous games and contains all the features from HoF with new ones although you will miss the older campaigns.

Hi

I got one question
when you play as necropolis and got the perks chilling bones AND fiery wrath. does one take out the other or does the creatures deal both water and fire elemental damage.

OK, I just got TotE and I have a couple of questions.

It runs REALLY slow!  I think it may be because there is a lack of space on the hard-drive.  If I uninstall the original Heroes V will I still have all the same features?

and, Does the map editor have every hero model?  Because I didn't see Shadya's.

What size of map are you playing? The requirements increased a bit with TotE but it should be slow on really big maps with many players only. H5 does not affect the tribes in any way as for the models I can't tell.

All models from H5 and HoF are still in the game, they are just a little harder to find in the Map Editor

Hey, I was wondering, does the chance of getting a low percent skill for your hero class increase according to the hero's initial skills? What I mean is , for example, wizards have an 8% chance to get war machines. Does Havez, who starts out with basic war machines, have the chance to advance in it faster, or is he stuck to 8%?

I don't think it works that way. You get an advanced skill in each level up so if you have two basic skills it would make no sense to say 8% one, 10% the other - it would be more like fifty-fifty.

I am not totally sure but they seem random according to the ones you already have.

Help, the necro castle have dissappeared. well, not all, but on adventure map, the main building isn't there. Help, how to fix it?

Edit: found out what the problem was. In shared in necropolis in mapeditor, the "y" was set to 0, but it shall be 1. So you can say the the Necropolis was sunken down into the earth

As te mods asked me to move them here, there are my latest questions:

1) In H3 the Grail (now Tear of Asha) never came into account soon enough to matter something. You should have control more or less of the whole map to get it, and at that point you don't need it anymore. I was asking myself if they fixed the inner problem with the Grail with H5 but, after a few scenarios, I'd say no. Am I wrong?

2) It seems to me that Mages Guild are far less luck based than the H3 ones where; you have a lot higher chances of getting things you need like Summon Phoenix, Puppet Master, Implosion and such (on the other hand, all effects seem nerfed) whereas in H3 the mage guild could have let you down -badly. Am I right?

3) Is the Light Magic the weakest school, or I just ignore its better uses? The blesses seems to me the important parts, and higher level spells seem situational.

4) In a dwarves thread there's a strategy wich involves assemblng a dracageddon with magma dragons; however, it requires crafting your hero accordingly since the beginning, so what do you do if you don't get Armageddon? Or there are safer ways to get it?

Heroes 5 plot summary

Where to find? I never did play through all the campaigns (of any of the three games), and now that we are (hopefully) approaching the announcement of HoMM6, and certainly just beginning to see ICTC3 entries, I'd quite like to know the whole story - since I can't see myself going much further in the game. I'm sure I've seen these around somewhere, but I can't remember where...?
