Depends on template, however in general Tazar is selected as main hero for Fortress maybe 30-40% of games. On TE there are other good heroes like Wystan, Alkin, Broghild, Bron. Neela is good, but not extra good as Scholar is useless. Mephala is good but Ivor is the same good.

Not a problem at all.
1) With mage guild re-build you will always get Slow in 1-3 days.
2) Slow is less good in human fights as Resist is now 30%. So, big chance that your opponent will resist your spell
3) Overall Earth Magic school is less important - no TP, less strong Implosion. Also, there are few skills that are more important than in SOD - like Ballistics for those heroes with Archery (to make Sniper class), like Scouting which is much stronger than in SOD and gives you effect of secondary Logistics (Explorer class with Navigation)

Not really. Many players play TE with different settings and rules and I don't see major problem with it.

I've played 5 years without DD and Fly. Now I prefer to play common templates like Balance, Jebus, BB without DD and Fly and "new" templates like 8mm6 and 2sm4d3 with DD and Fly. Imho it was a part of Magic School balancing. Now all schools are useful and I don't always hunt only for Earth. If I get Fire - that means expert TP, Berserk and Curse, Water was always good, Air is at the same level and Earth is less important than in SOD. It makes more variants in game, more rich strategy and more fun. How often do you take Fire in SOD? There are still interesting spells in this school.
Do you think that homm3 is a great game ONLY because you ALWAYS must get mass Slow? I don't think that we will change this back, none of good players have complainted about it.

I dont understand why fly/DD was allowed in the multiple league tournament. It sounded like the gladiator BG had a terrible game against his opponent in the multiple league tournament.

I wanted to post an idea for TE future development.
It concerns some underused spells, namely: Quick sand, Land Mine and possibly fix for uber spells mass haste/slow. The idea comes from HoMM5. Let said spells have the range of the inferno spell and let it be possible for the player to select the area where to cast the spells.
Hope i made it clear, please comment.

Quick sand/LM - yes that idea was discussed on russian forums, but not easy to make it.
haste/slow - too many strategies are based on these spells, I would prefer not to change them. However if there will be requests from skilled online players - then maybe.

I cant remember if the patch for removing Obelisks is done.
Yesterday i was looking back at the pages, but couldnt find anything.
Is there such patch already or its still for the future?

While it is easy to remove them using a type/subtype loop I am very interested how they will determinate and loop through the locations of creatures guarding them and delete, otherwise it will look bad.
It may be difficult.

Hi, just my feedback about this amazing mod
- Installation took: 5 minutes
- Number of games played on TE: 50+
- Overall satisfaction:10+
- What i like best: Necro, flux back in the game and i'm loving those towns. Armies exchange, and i like everything about TE.
- What I like less: One thing which is Hero Classes
- Creature experience: enabled for sure.
- Tax on army: disabled for sure.
Btw, any news about the new version of TE? Cause it rocks, keep up the good work guys

News are:
1) there is beta-version of simultanius-turns mod made by ASM. Mod name is WT (World Tournament). Very interesting and promising. However it still has bugs and it's development is slow.
2) any other development is slow too: I was busy with WCL chat, ASM was busy with sim-turn mod, WIC is busy with russian tournaments and writing articles. Possible time for new TE release postponed: maybe february-march 2010.

There is such patch made by WIC. However he removed not only Obelisks but many other objects like Quest huts, Boarder guards, Tents and something else...he doesn't remember all changes if you wish I can send u this patch...however I didn't put it to WCL because:
1) I don't know all changes exactly
2) I don't want to make "just another setting"...too many settings are now available, that's makes confusion

SAG, could you please send me this path to the mail i have at WCL.
And what happen with the idea for advance quick-combat. After each quickcombat to be offered to replay the battle yourself.
This will save A LOT of time, because that way you will always try quickcombat first and maybe 20-30% of the cases will accept the results.

I think i found a bug in TE. Don't think it is WOG bug because it is related to 'exchange army' option. So, the description:
Two heroes meet, one has 1 gnoll, other has the army. Now, the guy with the army clicks standard 'split army' button to split flies, but then he realizes he can transfer all army with 'exchange button', and he does it. 'Split army' option is still active, as we see highlighted army slots. Now, we want to give back one fly to the scout so we click his empty slot but game crashes here...
Not something crucial, of course this can be avoided and it happens so rarely that maybe it is not even worth mentioning. TE still rocks!

We had some bugs with Protos too. I Remember the game, when the town becomed Grey, when with Mephala comed from Town = 2 Mephala's faces. But it wasnt critical bug. In newest game i saw bug i never saw before.
P.S. i was dissmised Brissa before in that place.

bk, perhaps you used WT exe? also, gray towns and double-heroes may appear if you press Replay Turn button

Nop, we both used TE. Maybe only in that game, where gray town and double hero was WT not remember now.
