yes it is! (imbalanced)

orcs don't need spells and IMHO they should gain less XP from shrines because they level-up too fast!

Imbalanced why?

What would you rather have for a wizard hero at level 8 with advanced summoning.

Phantom forces or 3000 exp getting you up to level 9?

I'm glad the Barbarians get something at magic shrines, they could very easily have gotten nothing.

But chances for learning Phantom Forces in a shrine is only about 1/10 - and once you know the spell, you will have no use of it anymore. Barbarians can visit multiple shrine to get successive experience.

But hey, they could make it balanced, if all other heroes receive the same amount of experience, should they happen to know the spell the shrine provides. That way, it would be similar for all.

Numbers should be 500 / 1000 / 1500 XP by the way ... 3000 is pretty much.

Well, if I were playing the Barbs, then I probably wouldn't waste the time to conquer the Utopia or Vaults. I'd focus on crushing my oppressors.

4000 or 5000 experience depending on spell level...according to the fan manual.

Then primary motivation is the gold and arties But I would probably not care to attack a mage vault.

Ahem, well i haven't tried it yet...but don't you get multiple spells...that could potentially be 15,000 experience on top of what you get for killing the monsters.

Edit: tried it out and I did see an extra 15,000 experience.  Unfortunately it wasn't enough to go up to level 21 from level 20...

You guys are forgetting that barbies NEED to be higher level because they can't cast spells. If they leveled at the same rate as other heroes, they'd be hopelessly crushed.

That experience price is still pretty bad compared to others. Hmm, this is probably why they changed the spells to random Still you have 50% change of getting nice spell..

3000 may be a bit much but don't you think that if all the heroes who allready knew the spell would get the same amount of xp as the barb that that would be pretty unbalanced because they would get the same as the Barb PLUS the spell. So I think it's ok that it's only the Barbs that get exp. I'mean come on somehow they need to compensate that they can't use ANY magic.

it is not the lvl that's counts its the time   after 10 weaks the barbar is unstopible! even if you have pupet master,frenzy phantom ets... nothing can help you (ofcorse only if the barbar reach lvl 10 at least and he will....)

I think that Sareth didn`t sacrifises the people. He is the Dark Messiah and if he can uleash the demons he can probably seal them away also, but Arantir must sacrifice people.

Arantir couldn't trust Sareth, heck he was the Sovereign's heir. Would you let him try to seal or free his father? Way too much of a risk.

I have just purchased Toe and the fort expansion, but have not yet installed them.  I am still playing some downloaded maps for the original game.

My question is whether there are any pros (or cons) to go ahead and install these two additions while I am playing maps from the original.   In particular, will some of the ToE features such as caravan become active on an original game map?

TotE is entirely seperate, it will have no effect at all on HoF or the original.
