I only just found this game. And I'm hopelessly addicted.
I do have one question, though - I noticed that a lot of the custom single-player maps don't have the Tears of Asha, or if they do, the game ends as soon as you find it and bring it back to your castle. So far I've only found one map ("A Survival War") where you can enjoy the advantages of the Tear while continuing to fight your enemy.
What's bothering me, though, is that I can't seem to generate a random map that solves this problem either - if I check the Tears of Asha box, the game ends when I retrieve it. Is there a way around this?

Only using the Map Editor and removing that "Recover the Tear of Asha" objective.

Quote: hi all
i don't know if this was posted before or everybody knows this allready (or is in the fan manual) but i thought i share this with you (i don't know if this is even interesting )
when there is the "week of festivals" (gold, wood and ore only half income, no rare ressources), the income from artifacts stays the same (ie +1000 from the endless bag of gold). i'm not sure about the town specials (like +250 gold, +1 wood or ore) but i think u'll also get this .
i hope not everybody knew that so my post is not completely useless
@Buji,
Your post is certainly not useless, in fact this is a very interesting piece of info for me, read my posts on this thread (just read the page to get an understanding) and you would understand why.
I recall that the week of festivals also affect town special bonuses (so only 125 gold, no wood or ore given) but still need other players to test it out to ensure (it is difficult to get week of festivals in my game, and that is one week I don't want to get!).
So it seems that artifacts are not affected by week of festivals (yet can be affected by week of conjunction, which gives triple resources everywhere).

I'm horrible at using the Map Editor... how would I go about doing that? Is there a command I need to enter?

Launch the Map Editor. Open up the Random Map you want to edit, then on the Map Properties Tree on the left (I don't remember if you should click "View->Map Properties Tree" or something like that) you'll spot somewhere "Objectives". Expand that one, then expand PrimaryCommonObjectives and then you'll see two objectives. Delete the one that has the "Kind" property set to OBJECTIVE_KIND_BUILD_GRAAL (expand the objective to see its properties)
Then save the map and that's it.

I found the "Kind" property, but the editor won't let me delete it - the option is greyed out. Is there something else I should do first?
Thanks for the help, by the way.

No, delete the entire objective (the 'parent', the one you expanded before to see all those properties, including "Kind")
There should be two objectives, and delete the one with that Kind property set to that value, and then there should be only one left (objective, I mean)

In Objectives/Primary/Common/Objectives there's only one sub-directory, "[0]" - there's also Objectives/Primary/Common/DieInWeekWithoutTowns. Should I just delete [0]?

There's only [0]? And with the Kind property set to OBJECTIVE_KIND_BUILD_GRAAL?
Ok, then set the Kind property to OBJECTIVE_KIND_DEFEAT_ALL and don't delete anything.

That's a good thing right? Nival has messed up pretty much... or is there a reason why one shouldn't be happy about this?

Right now there are no guarantees or even hints of what to expect. However I doubt ubi would give them the boot if they did not intend to do something better, unless the reason they ceased their partnership was petty

TotE is stand-alone and independent of the other H5 games. You can play it without having any of the others installed.
As for patches, TotE currently has only one: Patch 3.1

I have a question. Have you guys ever met "Witch's Hut" or "Tree of Knowledge" (or whatever it's name was) in your random maps? Not even a Marletto Tower...
