Or was too cool to change  Anyhow a change once in a while can be good, it's just that people tend to change at the same time when a new batch arrives

I must say that I love my avatar! .. And it is so annoying that all changed avatar! I knew all you by avatar! Now i have to update my knowledge!
And Hmm... I just completed Dm again and saw a weird detail, when getting Arantirs plans, I read something interresting: He wanted to use the SKull of dragon to be able to summon Death's Avatar itself. And then I thought: Ain't that his special in TotE? And that would make a storywise fault.

I have also wondered about that question. Maybe Deats avatar and Avatar of death is different things.
But about Arantirs plan to sacrifice a million people, it should be impossible that a million survived after the siege of Stonehelm.

I cannot upload it because I have not a save there. Unfortunately you cannot see the text on the walkthrought on youtube, because it is to small to read and the player clicks it away 3 seconds later. But maybe there are some other sources.

Or H5 gave him a cheap skill that looks cool without it having to make sense. Nival was not involved with dark messiah in any way so they may overlooked that or did not care.

The Avatar summoned by Arantir in HoMM5 is only temporary. It vanishes after combat is finished. I guess that the one from Dark Messiah is a more permanent form. And to enable it as a permanent manifestation in Ashan, it requires more powerful magic to bring it in - hence the skull is needed.
At least, that's my take on it.

Weren't the guys that made DM involved in the TotE storyline?
And even if not, the makers of DM didn't really care about the main game in the first place. Other than the Demon Sovereign and Sareth, the game had next to nothing from the original game. The Orcs weren't even in H5, and the undeads were drastically different.
And even after TotE, there are still many things that make no sense. What's Shantiri? What happened to all the other races?

i'm just wondering: was Dm actualy in the beggining after heroes 5 or was it just something the game company made for no relationsship with heroes, but get tied with it?

I would bet it was always set after Heroes V, hence the game's name - Dark Messiah? i.e. the guy you play as throughout - Isabel's son. I recall nothing to suggest that they simply fitted it around Ashan later on.

You mean, other than the fact that she's Sareths mother? I might have missed some hints since I only played about halfway before I got annoyed with the game crashing on me every 5 mins.
Still, I played the game and saw little that made me go "hey, that's just like in heroes 5". Wouldn't have hurt the story to add a mission or two to play in areas you've seen in heroes 5. But I guess they couldn't because that would foreshadow events in the add-ons.

One detail in DM was wierd to me when I saw that Arantir had more Black Guards (Humans) than undead troops. I think it is so because he`s lost the mojority of his undead troops when he captured Flamshrien and he had not time to recover the udead army, because he was afraid that Sareth may uleash the demons, so he hired many Black Guards as mercenaris.
