True.
Anyway, about logistics, it seems to me it is too good. Even in a small map. Have you ever tried Urghat with Warpath and Snatch?
How do you compensate in a map like Hourglass the lack of Logistics?

U can try out chain fighting if its something u need desperately.. Chaining with 2nd, 3rd and 4th heroes the troops to get what u want, but its a real waste of time though ..
Some mana control, avoid topping up mana in wells, taking mines with 2nd etc and planning the move perfectly, all can help much

With the fact that they cant rush me sooner than day 5-6 on week 3. During that time i;m level 24-25 with or without logistics.

It's not about being desperate. I mostly argue that some skills in the game became essential and others expendable.
There are heroes that are better off without Logistics. Knight(if not thinking about Dark Magic Knight) and Ranger come into mind. Except for the Familiar Ground, all other abilities are not so hot.
And Wizard, Runemage who have a 2% chance of getting it, seem disadvantaged here.

Call me a noob, but what route do you take? I mean, I never ended up more than level 16-17 on week 3, excluding the level up trees.

I had a game there with fortress lately, no logs, and hero was level 16 on day 10, but every fight is near suicide, if u dare to take the risk fighting everything u walk past, why not
Its not about the path, its about judging the fights, every map is the same, just some maps are more on decoration rather than actual game play. Most like to creep like mad early in the game, so hourglass is the natural choice
U can be level 20 on week2, if u take the utopia and 81 wraiths straight away

How do you take 81 Wraiths with Fortress in Week 2?
Or Haven/Sylvan for that matter?
Some replays would be nice.
My battle with the Wraiths is on the last page under No Comment
If it weren't for those Sprites I would have been dead, week 3 with 70 Arcane Archers...
And the path does matter.
I mean: do you take the secondary towns with your main or with a secondary? Same for the Mines and the Abandoned Mines.

Week 3 should be 90-100 arcane archers ?
Weel 2 50+ or 60+ if u have ossir in tavern or main can try if u have mass haste + r.might
U can build 3 castles in week 2 for sure, but might not be 2 dragons building, depending on luck with resources

well I recruited only from the main town, and I had losses in other battles (fighting liches, the military post, other hunters..,)
Still I won only because of the Harm Touch abuse. My Archers killed about 7 Wraiths per hit. And there were 4 stacks of 20.
You still haven't answered my other questions (Plz help this noob improve )

Again I am asking about someone to post a replay and/or skillbuild/strategy to beat 81 Wraiths with Haven and Sylvan in week 2.

Here's one with sylvan, week2, only 43 arcane archers from ossir
http://www.speedyshare.com/245744548.html , have 17 more in town, but did not buy due to money needed for 3 castles and the dragon building
Got raise dead as well, but due to lucky shots, it wasn't even needed much

Nice.
One question though: how many level up trees did you take in order to get to level 18? Or what was the route taken?

Depends, if u have a good 2nd hero, the main can take the dungeon with many resources, if not, go for the 2nd wood/ore mine..
Total took only 1 tree before the wraith fight.
Hero had war path only after that utopia fight, here's the army and break on week3 day 5 http://www.speedyshare.com/823133881.html
Alot of risks in this map , i have an online game in hg as well yesterday, suicided with fortress They just can't creep properly

Indeed. This map is all about power creeping and Fortress is just not suited for it. Maybe Ingvar or Helmar with the Resurection Spell and/or Rune or Resurection?
I played only once this map and suicided too because I was risking every fight. It seems to me Logistics is also essential here. In that game, I was facing a Urghat with Warpath/Snatch and he was always ahead of me despite me having Logistics too.
Academy/Fortress seem underprivileged from this perspective.

All I'm saying is that their strength is diminished by this, as their sheer creeping power is tuned down by the lack of mobility

So at the end of week 2 you're aiming for 3 castles and 1 lvl 7 building?
