Quote: DF:
No, it's just highly unlikely that I'd be interested in a girl in whom 10 other people are interested. My tastes are rather different from other people's.
Mine too and it still happened... a couple times.
It doesn't even need to be 10 people... 2 are enough. Or even one, if he is faster then you.
Yeah, it is a race, sadly. Too bad that since it's based ENTIRELY on being in the correct place at correct time, you may ignore that part altogether and simply live, waiting for something to come by.
But no pillar stuff please You are expected, as a man, to be the initiating side. I don't like this myself, but... well, ask some women, most wants the man to initiate the conversation, propose a date and such. I met only two girls who took initiative and decided to pick ME up, not vice versa (those are great memories btw. Wish more girls were like that.)

Just because you're a pillar doesn't mean you can't be on the initiating side.

I think that mvass would be happy with a good old fashioned arranged marriage to the young daughter of a well renowned family.
What empirical evidence would you have to make the "pillar theory" more than a hypothesis?

Young daughters of well-renowned families are not what they once were, unfortunately. Nor are the families themselves.

The successful relationships of my friends who follow it (albeit unknowingly).
The failed relationships of other people I know who didn't follow it and whose mistakes could've easily been prevented had they followed it.

sometimes I don't know if I want to feel better, right now I'm not feeling so good. But when I do feel better, I feel a little guilty, like I'm not supposed to not be sad. But yeah, I'll manage.

*sigh*
That's a severe exaggeration. Pillar theory isn't that unusual - you people just don't like it because I gave it a name. If I had simply said, "Be sure you know the girl pretty well, and likewise she knows you," I wouldn't have this backlash. But since I decided that it'd be shorter to write "pillar theory" than all that, you people jump at my throat.
