Do you really think that back in "old darky days" people actually did what they were supposed to do? I mean that you thik noone had sex before marriage or "out of" marriage ("cheat")?
Sex was a tabu, and people fell in love and the lust ended up sneaking upon them. If that came before an arranged marriage it would be likely to happen.
