Nah, I just want to put a slide show of pictures to music, and turn the whole thing into a .avi that I can play in media player or something.

I'm in a desperate need of some help
I reseted my computer, then instead of launching Windows, an XP warning came up, iirc it said it was checking the system because it was "inconsistent". Then a 3-part CHKDISK scanned my hard drive, and windows was finally launched. Since then Mozilla crahed several times due to a critical error, usually upon opening some youtube videos.
What could be the problem? (pc is really old, Celeron 1.7, 640 mb ram, Gef 5200, mainboard is AsRock P4i65G for that matter).

If IE works normal and the problems are only in Firefox then probably after reseting some of firefox internal files were damaged. In that case reinstalling Firefox may help.
For detailed information try to google the error you receive when FF crashes and how to fix it.

Bleh
I reinstalled Firefox, now it doesn't want to launch anymore :S
Meanwhile, opera and winamp crashed too. It seems that my file system got damaged. Ran chkdsk, and atm running deisc defrag too, but so far nothing seems to help. Opera runs fine though, but firefox still don't launch.
Any ideas?

test your RAM. If it's not the RAM it could be a virus. Otherwise I don't know what can cause explorer to "shutdown" by itself...

Try using system file checker. Click on Start, then in the run box type:
sfc /scannow
That scans windows files and attempts to repair bad files.
If that does not work you may wish to uninstall and reinstall the programs you are having trouble with.
Barring that, you may need to wipe your hardrive and reinstall everything. Back up whatever you want to save first.
Edit:
Oh, you should copy exactly what error message you get and type it in google to see if there is a solution posted somewhere.
Edit again: If you don't have your original disks that came with your computer, you may have a partition on your harddrive that is for restoring your computer to original factory specs.

something's burning
Hi, i have a problem. recently i got two 'almost' working computers, so i decided to make one working one, and maybye sell it. Everything worked fine, OS installed without any problems and suddenly after few hours of work there appeared smoke from somewhere around the motherboard. I checked everything on both sides of motherboard, power supply plug, all other cables. None of them seemed melted, and there were no signs of burning.. :? Has anyone had such burning PC's? Could you give any tips? Anything else to check? Or should i solder out whatever usable parts, and then throw away that computer?

Well, sorry to word my meaning with such offensive words as I do, but: USE COMPRESSED AIR TO CLEAN THAT DAMN FAN!
Other noteable offernders:
*Check the volt in BIOS
*Dated BIOS, update only if dated
*The OS got tinglebells towards the devices
*On a computer smoke does not equal fire

A bad power supplly or bad capacitor or transistor. Hopefuly you are using a surge suppressor.
Well, in such a situation, turning on your computer can always cause furthur damage. But if you can't have someone take a look at it, the next time you turn it on make sure to have the cover off so you can see better where any smoke is coming from.
I assume you have carefully looked at everything to see if you notice any discoloration.

That's an interesting question & JollyJoker mentioned Malwarebytes...
I use AVG based on another IT person's thoughts but I read that Malwarebytes Anti-Malware may detect stuff that AVG does not...
But I also read that MBAM not be an anti-virus as such & can work along side AVG? [would be good to get answer from someone with BOTH on their computers]
