I am done posting and discussing my maps... if some of you dont like them.. then so be it.  I have talked with lots of people who do like my maps and play them alot. I suppose I shouldnt get so worked up over the few that dont understand them.

Hehe easy guys What jinxer does not seem to understand is that it's not a matter of intelligence but one of preference and enjoying the game. There is always the middle way but then maps are up to the mapmaker, if you like them you play them.

Also experience varies, I have seen jinxer miss some gameplay thingies so he may not have played all factions equally and may therefore have a different perspective on balance. Thing is that jinxer does not want to be restricted by the rules of ubi and creates limitations in his maps instead.
I will explain, genesis is an epic map with many paths and very strong garrisons. Which means that you are forced to take certain skills that are simply more effective than others, a contrast with the freedom of choices ON the map.

Also I don't believe that some factions AUTOMATICALLY become obsolete once week 4 passes, that depends on the number of tows and dwellings. But when you have to rush the heck out of the map so you can get to opponent just before week 6 I cannot agree. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know epic map balance as well as shorter ones but it is clear that some factions can profit by stalling.

Note that the above is not necessarily about genesis, just my understanding on maps.

trust me... if someone could tell me the best garrison strength to make the PERFECT map.. I would impliment it ina heart beat. I have to be honest... and admit.. that I havent the foggiest idea how to make the garrisons balanced so that Necro-Dungeon-Orcs are not walking thru them late week 3 / early week 4...

How is Fortress gonna stand any chance when orcs show up early week 4 at there town.. When they are just bearly starting to get rolling by week 3.   Its usually week 3 before I can get a decent training of cavs going and what happens to haven if poof late week3 or early week 4 there is Necro or Dungeon or Orcs setting at your gate and you bearly had time to train 7 extra cavs..

I am seriously not trying to be a jerk here.. and not trying to be difficult.. I would seriously like some non flaming discussion on how and what a good balance garrison for ALL towns would look like. One that wouldnt let some of the easy rush towns thru way to early... and one that also doesnt require Light Dominate Towns as you guys say.   Even tho I still dont understand how you can say light is dominate when vampirism/dark is far better and effective then Rez.  Which brings me back to the fact that all towns except Orcs and dungeon have rez or vampirsm or raise dead... orcs have rage.. nuff said there.   So having one town maybe unbalanced vs. mulitple towns??.. anyways... I am throwing down the gauntlet and saying I am willing to hear some rational serious non flaming non personal map attacking ideas and theories.

well as a mapmaker myself....  to "make" an universial garrison is the hardest part of ANY part... when it comes to mapmaking....
for Genesis the "north" garrison could be like:
25 Shadow Dragons, 65 Chieftain, 25 Shadow Matriarch
(+ mummy's and maybe "hardcore's"... read manticores)

as always the numbers is ajustable....

Check out the garrisons on Twilight's World by Zilo. Especially the center garrisons... some versatile combos there

just a general observation (that tend to annoy me a bit) is that people just disregard, or most likely, dont understand, the concept of variance. When a lot of random factors are involved, like in H5, from time to time really strange things (outlayers, or extreme luck/bad luck if you like) will occur. With the amount of random elements in H5 there are bound to be situations where centaurs acts before emeralds or whoever init 12 creature. Its not necessarily IMBA whatever though.

We tend to get all fired up over ONE single fight, which is pretty stupid.

I think Twilight World has very good garrisons for all races. The map is marvellous btw
