rewatching "superbad", something i haven't seen in over a decade. i've forgotten how funny this movie is. it's pure juvenile humor, but it's a lot of fun. the overall vibe and events remind me of my adolescent days.

Nomadland was such a great movie, haven't had such an experience for a long while. Truly recommend.
Mortal Kombat was a video game movie, what can I say I enjoyed the fights and visuals, but there is no plot, no story, no emotion. But with lots of beers and friends it is awesome

Mulan (the movie) was s*it. Like literally I didn't expect it to be so bad. It's not even about many bad changes against the original animation or toadying to China. The movies plot was idiotic, and the protagonists OP-ness made it look even more ridiciolous (battle in the pass was quintesence of bad writing).

WW84 was so-so. The plot kind of meanders around and I don't really understand what Diana has been doing for the past 60+ years. It was good to see that the Mandalorian made his way to Earth to be in the DC universe.
Mulan was good but it's hard to measure up to the animated version, and also it didn't have the humor of the original.

watched "leaving las vegas" with nick cage and elizabeth shue. had all the makings of a good movie, except none of the characters were anything close to people you could feel compassion for. pretty much, you'd find these garbage people on any episode of the show "cops"; and they decided to make a movie about them in some retarded attempt to humanize them. i am unsympathetic. on top of that, the entire soundtrack was utter garbage. should have read a synopsis of the movie first; "degenerate alcoholic and trashy hooker find love amidst snow music".
garbage.

titus: a great movie about a great play. if you haven't seen it, i recommend it. this movie, as well as romeo and juliette with dicaprio and danes, are fantastic adaptations of shakespeare's works; and are well worth viewing.

Snyder's Army of the Dead is literal ****. Making a zombie action movie into a cringfest is in a league of its own.
To think I once thought this director made cool movies...

I also watched that today. I was hoping for a fun film since I like the genre and Snyder’s 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead was really well-done. The “Viva Las Vegas” intro was also interesting. But everything was so downhill so fast afterwards, I turned over to internet browsing on my tablet, looking at the TV every once in a while, expecting it to end.

[mild spoilers ahead]
I was rolling my eyes the whole time. You expect pure action, maybe a few character developments, what you got was:
- sentient Zombies. If Snyder wanted you to "feel" for the zombies, then his "vision" was either infantile or plain stupid at most. I mean c'mon, they are making babies now?
- a cliched and dumb "unruly daughter does not listen to her father" motive
- a comic relief German character who was a total miss (unfunny and exaggerated)
- the motive with money as a "make up" prize to help the quarantined people. Well, cool concept all the while the town is nuked and we never know if those people were going to be actually evacuated...
- the whole movie felt like it was wrote by a teenager not an expierienced director. I literally cringed when the daughter was shouting "we need to save her (and compromise the whole mission), she's a mother of two!"
- they ofc couldn't help themselves and brought in an "orange man bad" reference which was weak (although US does have a long standing tradition of referrencing current political situation in their movies)
- beefed up "human" characters who were thrown around like ragdolls. I understand the big bad being strong, but from where does a zombie get so much strenght from?
And many more things that I found irritating and distracting... in a movie that imo should focus on action and fun.
The only good scene was the one when they were leaving the vault (the "let's make it through together" one ). And maybe the begining where they showed the characters origins. And the Tiger.
I expected better from Snyder, but guess he ended with Justice League. He always made geeky movies, but 300 or Watchmen were actually groundbreaking, and as artu said Dawn of the Dead was also memorable. I can't understand why they say it's one of his best movies to date. If so then critics reached a new low...
Ok done, I shouldn't waste this much time commenting a movie that left me feeling I wasted time.

It would have been if not for the explanation. It does a lot of things well but completely and utterly botched it with that stupid explanation. After that nothing makes sense.

Army of the Dead had all the right stuff in it, like a zombie with a helmet and cape and spear riding around on an undead horse, but for some reason I was bored for a lot of it. It just doesn't grip your attention and it takes forever for stuff to happen. It's like a 2 and half hour long commercial on why not to drive & do oral sex.
btw, it doesn't make sense in that convoy in the beginning that the 2 army vehicles were driving behind the cargo lol. There should have been one in the front.

It doesn't make sense to transport such a dangerous cargo in such a weak container to begin with... but yeah guess there's no Zombie movie without stupid circumstance.

Maybe it was the Biden administration and the super zombie program had cuts to its funding so they had to transport him in a tin box across a desert road with some plastic wrap they borrowed from the employee lounge.
I disagree with almost all of your points btw.

There are clear nods to "Orange man" administration in the movie.

Nonsense. The DT man, Il Duce, is super popular in SoCal. He even managed to break into double digits in some districts. The writers must have been talking about Biden or some generic president.
Personally I kind of liked the idea of the zombies having babies and creating their own little kingdom, but the movie was long and ambled along at a slow pace and it either needed to be shorter or it needed more content. I'd still like to see a sequel for them to go deeper.
