Some of the socialist ideas I can get behind, although not all. Like Universal Health Care. I think it is a great idea, IF done correctly and carefully.
I think Obama is just as corrupt as the next guy, but at least he is a face that the rest of the world has taken a liking to. Maybe eventually they will not see us all as gun toting rednecks who hate everything and everybody. Or as greedy swine who just want to rob you with one hand while shaking your hand with the other. So although he is just another politician to me, at least he is one that might change the worlds idea of America. Which is a plus, at least for me.
I am somewhat a liberal. I think gays should be able to marry if they are stup..I mean in love enough to do so. I think people should have access to healthcare despite how rich they are. Racist, sexist, and such irk the heck out of me, as well as the 'eliteist'. I love America, and am proud to be an American. I realize that we don't live in a utopia however. We have issues and problems. Just like most nations in the world.

@baklava; seems to me you should instead be talking about people who use the flag instead for "using a useless 200 year old piece of cloth with stars and stripes on it".

If someone has no reason to hate something, because it has no "strong meaning", then why do people flag it around? Same reason can be used to "hate" it.
If someone flags Hitler's flag as pro-nazism, then someone can just as well hate that flag for that. Likewise, if someone flags the US flag for whatever reason, someone can hate the flag for that, and it is no more pointless than the person flagging it in the first place.

That's not the same.
Inquisition waved crosses around; I dislike the Inquisition but I don't dislike the cross. In fact, I dislike people who dislike the cross just because the Inquisition used it.
Hitler was the FIRST to invent and use his swastika flag so I have a right to dislike it. But the swastika was a Hindu and Buddhist symbol far before Hitler was even born, so I just dislike Hitler's interpretation of it (in a white circle on a red background). I don't dislike the swastika itself.

The theory is that he was so depressed about being rejected from Art school, so he enlisted in the army and got PTSD, dressed like Spiderman 3 Tobey McGuire and wrote emo books, and people actually bought them. So that cheered him up but his newfound popularity encouraged him to do more and more insane things.
Essentially according to that theory, Hitler would have become a lesser artist and faded into obscurity if he was accepted.
I think he was probably insane long before he turned emo.

On a different note that also has to do with the main topic...would people have gotten so upset if say .. the flag of Iran had been banned? Or Mexico? Would it have even rated a thread then? To me one is just as bad as another. It doesn't matter that it was an American Flag to me, nor if they don't want it on the walls of the common areas. What bothers me is the private areas and private property (like vehicles).

This has nothing with violation of rights. Of course, it must adhere to the lease rules, but if it does say in the lease (or if the lease expires every month or so), then he can kick them out for ANY reason.
You don't need a reason to kick a stranger out of your home, do you?
