Quote: Just finished my second game with Kis and oh boy was that a match oO.
Was great fun. It seems that I play close games. I was abit disappointed, when I saw that haven has enlightment, since I got that too. I really loved the crowd in the center, an armageddon would do miracles. Its not that usuall that crossbows are in the middle. It seemed for me that I will loose, when those imperials dive and dive and dive, killing lotssa army in no time. But pupet took out palas from the battle for long enough to the gated ones to arrive. Alos I have learned that searing aura does not work against magic immunity.
Other game was easy-cheesy, imbue arrow, multiarrow frenzy is just too much, even with expert shatter dark.
Thanks for the games.

Azzie is advancing to the pro league, niiice
(if I am the one to decide that is )
And the Vermin-Pit Lord transfer combo was such a double edged sword
A stupid question - Mass Haste/Endurance from Power of... perks cuts the initiative loss as they were cast with Master perks?

Thanks for games Maniek, best of luck in rest of tourny.
Gm1 Maniek shadya l SKPRIMUS nicolai
I had some trepidation coming up against that dungeon hero, especially with the slow <hated> necro. Perusing the spells available..hmm ok I suppose, then looked at witch-gut ta da LIGHT MAGIC And I had RM div str & teleport available.
Spent at least 15K on mentor to ensure getting protection, eventually getting the build I wanted...but Maniek did not have meteor
Gm2 Maniek shak-karukat l SKPRIMUS irina
Well I got to play with my hated & then my favourite faction. I pondered whether I should get dark or not but luckily I gambled correctly & chose not to & then eventually got exactly the build I wanted after some mentoring while leaving only few priests behind. The beginning of the battle frightened the hell outa me with the pallys dying & being eaten before they could even charge once But then eventually the Angels saved the day along with great support helped by morale & luck & fortuitous placement of some units 1 square out of harm's way.
=======
Well maybe my journey ends here...to all group 1 players, thank you for the music & it's been an interesting tourny & a pleasure to play all these games in 13 days...I will also be available for some non-tourny duels if anyone is interested so please contact me (esp group 2 players)

Thanks for great tourny Elvin...I should also mention in that last battle, I wasn't sure if those plant-like thingies were 1-square obstacles or not & so I assumed they were obstacles just to be safe...it coulda been annoying but thankfully not.

Metatron vs Shagrat 2-0
1. Dungeon vs Necro
Game is playing until very end. I don't want even to think what would be if I didn't have the defence, and I got almost at the end of development after earlier spending the considerable cash on searching for the defence. I wasn't lucky to mass spell, I had only a chain of lightnings. Fortunately the opponent didn't have the fill many what helped me with the finish.
2. Orcs vs Sylwan
One-way contest. Lack of the dark magic, of mass charms, and at me empathy and commanding. Orcs crushed elfs.
Thx for game. Good luck next time.

I've seen Vermins making their way in the last Inferno games... Were the Imps nerfed or is everyone just screwing around with the Verms ?

They can sit in the back and draw enemy fire and/or melee units away from other troops, also forcing them to come out and stop turtling. Otherwise you'll find your mana pool dry with their initiative, gates and possible morale. Of course that's not the case when the enemy has bottomless mana. They give necros and possibly dwarves a hard time and they can draw the first cast from a warlock.
In short - they generate more psychological pressure on the other player than Familiars do.

Now that was deep.
Also creating a nicely protected formation with gated Vermins vs Sylvan/Dwarfs/Necro's/Haven/Orcs is effective. I dont know why Familiars should be superior since their advantage is only transfering mana to hero. Hence you care about mana with Demon Lord? + better stats of Verms.
On a side note *casts Summon Rubycus & Mohikanin*

Imps are far superior to Vermins, because they can suck mana and move/gate on the same action, and they also suck double ammount giving it back to the hero also which is very nice, especially since Pit Lords are seldom seen on the battlefield. Also seeing Vermins on the battlefield for more than two turns against most towns is highly unlikely, so they are the lesser choice by far.
I actually would be using them in only few scenarios... boots of speed + tactics cause they can reach opponent in one turn , creeping! , where 1 extra speed is very important and you can stel no mana , and fantaplaying, in combination with lvl 2-3 rage orcish witches and chainlighting. The other 90% of the situations I would pass.

Second game vs BlizzardBoy : Sylvan vs Academy (me). Faiz has a very good Defense (plus the skill, Stand your ground and Stormwind!) and a lot of mass spells (stone skin, RM, weakness, slow, vulnerability and sufering. Very good build.
Thanks for the games.
I'm waiting for you, Tann and Rubycus.
