Origin pretty much is steam for EA games. Bioware's been releasing game son it for years now.

That said, I am playing BioWare's Dragon Age Inquisition. There is a healthy reason to comment more right now than I will, but despite its shortcomings, the game is well worth it, though I'd wait for the pricetag to come down. The critics are quite right with their average rating for the game, though I'd cite the wrong reasons why.

Kingdom Rush for PC

While browsing through gaming sites I stumbled upon some news that the third entry in the KR series: Origins was recently released (I didn't even know there was a sequel). Thinking back, a few years ago one of my friends introduced this game to me, saying it's really addicting. I also remember my brother playing it on his phone (it's possible I was the one who told him about it), and beating it. He praised it a lot.

Curious about the new entry I looked around if there is a PC version. Of course, there's a flash version of each game in the series, so it's easy to access, but it's windowed, and with all those small little details the game deserves to be played on a bigger screen.

As it turned out, original Kingdom Rush was released this year on Steam, even with some bonus content. Unfortunately Frontiers and Origins weren't and probably will not be released on PC (that's what I've heard at least).

And damn, not only is this game easy to pick-up (really simple mechanics, even for TD games) and addictive, it's mission format enables it to be played in short sessions (like Hearthstone ). It's also full of charm, I very much like it's cartoon-ish art style. I will even go as far as to say it's the best "stand-alone" Tower Defense on the market (many later TD games are said to be based on it).

Endless Legend.  After Civ: BE crapped out on me after the latest patch, I needed something to scratch that 4x itch.  So far, I'm enjoying it.  Each faction is quite diverse and you still have the warm passive/aggressive comments from the AI we have all come to appreciate from Civ.

Alongside Pokemon Omega Ruby I am playing "The Legend of Zelda: A Link between Worlds". As with OR, this is my first Zelda title and I really like it. I love to explore game worlds in order to find little secrets and treasures and the bulk of the game is just that. It makes me so happy. Besides, it looks really great on 3DS. I think that I will stick to that franchise for quite long...

got diablo 3. it sucks...

no, I like it so far (which would be 4th or 5th quest of act 1), I probably didn't play diablo 2 enough to see all the glaring flaws

the only thing that really annoys me so far are merchants. just hit the wrong button when you just want to examine an item and that's all your gold that goes down the drain for an item you didn't want(and when you need to constantly swith between A, B and X only to examine items, that sometimes happen). and to make it worse, save is instant, so it's irreversible... seriously, who designs merchants this way?
and of course it's not like you can get back a decent part of your gold when you sell it back, you buy it 1500 and can only sell it for like 50...

otherwise, the gameplay makes me think of a beat em all. I don't remember the previous games had a dodge button, but I like it, I hardly ever played hack and slash but it was awkward to me to have no clue if I could actually dodge enemy attacks.

Diablo 3 is indeed a really average game. I think it is better than D2, gameplay is atleast. The story sucks. But I think it is pretty decent.

I just got my hands on Smash Bros for my 3ds Yay! Quite fun.

oh well, if the gameplay is good at least...
a good story is a plus, but better have a good gameplay and a bad story than the other way around.
I play the sorceress, to have some range power. and I feel cheated, I picked her over the warlock because the outfit looked great, only to find out it wasn't her starting outfit

don't know if there are some noob classes lol. I considered the demon hunter but it sounded like a rather exigeant class, also I was concerned that ammunition may be limited.

Xmas has ended. Wonder how many new "I'm playing at the moment..." will pop up?

Me? I'm playing Tears to Tiara II Heir to the Overlord.

Was a bit uncertain about it because of all those comments that it's more of a visual novel then a game and that some sequences and dialogues take hours to plow through (it's not a problem of me not liking VN's in some way, but it's rather a matter of time, or it's lack, that I've got on my hands). True, opening part of the game was quite long, but not as without the players participation as many people said. Plus, I think it was very climatic (the Japanese voice of the main protagonist is a bit irritating, especially his girly screams, though I'm accustomed to that). The game has a nice Roman/Ancient Greece/Medieval Europe setting (yeah I know it sounds strange but it turns out quite nicely). I finished a few short stages for now, but I can already feel the burdensome tone of the game (though some of the dialogues really take their time, even in scenes that seem too dynamic to put some many words into them, but hey, that's a Japanese game for you). The game mechanics seem raw and not over-complicated: just the way I like it. Can it be that serious and memorable TBS I was looking for quite some time now (even worthy of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn or Awakening)? Only time will tell... (they say this game takes 60+ hours to finish so I'm in for a treat :])

To do not think there is a noob class. but yeah Demon Hunter is pretty easy.. but to me it is all about which class you find fun and then just play that. To me that is demon hunter or witch doctor, but the last one can be a bit tricky to max out in potential

To whom it may concern

I just finished DAO3 and I can safely attest to what critics say about the game: it truly is worth exactly the percentage they give it. While I have no prior experience with the series, and I guess I can make a sort of unbiased opinion about it, I can tell that this is definitely a must play game for various reasons.

However, one thing that the game reeks of is BioWare. All of its pitfalls and wonders stem from what is BioWare's (un)doing. The world is majestic, gameplay is somewhat clunky, yet enjoyable, micromanagement is a bit too much, but not to say it isn't nice. Graphics are a nice touch as well, I've seen some views which are literally jaw-dropping.

However, it does disappoint a bit in terms of storyline. I guess much of it relies on how much you immerse yourself in the world and your developed relationships with your characters (romance included, but of all sorts, not only that), as well as how accepting and inquisitive you are about of/about the lore of the world. By the end though, I am happy they managed to come up with several "Oh! Surprise!" moments and, even for one who is unattached to the game, they seem like a nice addition. Alas, this holds true to the notion that this is a BioWare game. While developed with a much greater scale in mind, it dwarfs in comparison with their other series (Kotor, Mass Effect). It strives to be so much more than it actually is that it feels like it begins to eat itself like Ouroboros.

The fun in the game lies in the little bits though: the first time you visit an astrarium (and what it unfolds), witnessing how your hub changes, collecting oh-so-many herbs only to find out that there is probably never enough of them. Oh and there is a HUGE feeling of "XXXX YEAH!" somewhere in the middle of the game that makes you feel pumped for more.

However, the game strives too much to become more open-world than before, thus becoming somewhat lackluster in comparison to Skyrim. Some things are way more developed (well, it isn't 2011 and they had some time to figure things out about what people liked in it), but the majority feels just a bit under par in comparison. Combine that with inability to create your own mods and you have quite a gap.

That said, the ending poses more questions than it answers, most of which seem unrelated, which is what I don't particularly like, but I guess I will leave it at that. The linearity towards the end (I say linearity as a relative term, because of all the games of such scale and magnitude, BioWare's inventions usually have the most non-linear way of doing things) also obstructs the enjoyment, but I guess this is a fault that permeates most games nowadays. That's not to say there is no fun endgame material, but it is rather scarce and feels more of a chore. It also prolly relies on the fact that by the end of the game you have very little new to find (as most novelties you will encounter on your 2nd or further playthrough).

All in all, I am very glad I sacrificed a huge chunk of my last month to the game (I completed right about 98% of all the game, including most completionist things people do) as it truly a sight to behold. I do suggest you to bear very little expectations with you: let the game's slow pace take you along with the flow and do the work for you. You won't regret it.

Don't starve.

It's a fun sandbox game where you have to survive in a world where dead by starvation is always a threat, you are hunted by rabid hell hounds and at night the nightmonster is only kept away by the small circle of light provided by your campfire or torch.
And if you manage to survive all that winter arrives: your crops stop growing, days grow short and night terribly long and you risk death by freezing
