Yeah died 12 times now, restarted once I got the blond chick since all the armours looked uber fat on me. The weapon animations look sublime so far as does the hit-feedback. Oh god the katanas, I was going to play a rapier character but as soon as I saw the katana attacks and stances my heart skipped a beat.

Died like 14 times thanks to bloodborne-idus. Anyone else seeing other player's phantoms sliding around like mannequins? I mean, really, they slow the release date and they could no fix that? What the hell From.

I've recently started playing Dark Souls 3 Rayman 2. What a fun platformer. No wonder why I've spent so much time with it when I was a child.

I do not see phantoms because I only play offline. I don't feel like getting butchered while trying to explore the game.
Due to playing mostly offline, I think I've clocked something like 2 minutes into Dark Souls 2 according to Steam.

I know. I like being in the Cinder form and not having to worry about invasions. Unfortunately, I don't tend to stay in the form for very long.

I prefer to not rely on limited supply items in a Souls game so I did not reapply it after dying the first time; would have been a waste anyway.

How is the combat speed/feel? Closer to DS 1 or bloodborne?
I have no interest in an aggressive Dark souls. I have monster Hunter for that.

It feels really really smooth, hit feedback feels sexy as well, they cut down on a lot of the clunky wait times when resting or picking up stuff or when consuming things.

Playing through Final Fantasy XII. Whoever designed the treasure chest system and the 1% drop loots was a real sadist. The game has a lot going for it (so much content!) but some things about it make it too much of a grind.

I have no interest in an aggressive Dark souls. I have monster Hunter for that.
It's basically Dark Souls in Bloodbornes engine, attack animations and rolls are faster but not anywhere near the speed of Bloodborne.
If you liked dark souls or bloodborne more it's definetly worth a shot either way since it seems to appeal to both.
Also if you think Bloodborne is somehow a monster hunter clone you are severely wrong.

Really? Cause to me the rolls seemed much slower than ds1 or II's, more 'realistic'.

It seems like they execute faster to me. Then again, I'm usually fat rolling, so I don't roll a lot.

I don't like being aggressive or risk-taking in souls games which is something Bloodborne seemed to embrace. I liked the necessity of being careful and taking it slow in DS. I want to be punished for quickly jumping in, not rewarded. I want fights to be a slow grind, not fast-paced duels. If it's more a return to that I'm interested. If not I'll skip it.
For now I'll probably wait and see if the increased speeds make combat too fast or if it just makes it more streamlined without removing/mitigating the "mindgames".
Also, is there still ridiculous terrain collision and such? If that's fixed I'll probably pick it up quicker.

Bloodborne doesn't reward the player for running in and spamming r1, I guess you haven't actually played the game which is why you assume it's so different from the Souls style.
And Dark Souls 3 is faster than Dks1 and 2 but it's not Bloodborne fast, if you enjoyed Dark Souls you'll enjoy dks3.

I don't understand, has this ever been a problem in Souls?
