Yeah. It's pretty pathetic.
As to games being played, working on multiple play-troughs of Salt & Sanctuary with a Thief and Mage. The Mage is pretty fun but cannot take a hit for anything and the Thief relies heavily on blitzing enemies.
Also working on my goal to beat Civ 5 with every civilization. I almost had it with Montezuma until the computer instantly won when the United Nations was founded thanks to Alexander.

Recently I have indulged myself in games old and new. On the latter front we have the "dystopian document thriller" by the name of Papers, Please - an indie game released in 2013. I've walked several paths already, decided to be either merciful or as by the book as possible, and of course exploited video game cruelty potential on several fronts. I have planned more morally reprehensible actions for a future run, which will again start from day 1.
I have been able to keep my family alive the whole time, though, and I really should work on my aim.
Old games include DOS-based stuff like the good old Psycho Pinball. I've seen 'remakes' of it with remixed music, but imo it can't match the original. Pure 1995 gold right there! Then there is this other old game called Supaplex. It's a puzzel game that becomes more challenging as you progress, with 111 levels in the original release. There exists an app for Android, which brings the game to you in two versions: old and new. Old as in old graphics, music and sounds. The new one is a polished version which is more according today's standards - including remastered music and sounds. My favorite combination is old graphic appearance, old sounds, new music. The entire game has only one soundtrack, so there isn't much to choose from anyway, but I dig the remix. It even has the feature of saving mid-level (so that if you die you don't have to start the level all over like in the DOS pc game).
I haven't touched H6 in a while.

Enough. On standard pace, I was up to 2030. It took so long because I was not content with leaving civilizations with the ability to vote. Oh no, their delegates were ground into dust along with their weak civilizations. My favorite moment was after taking most of Japan's territory and just about anything it had left of value in peace negotiations, nailing them with an embargo.

I've recently finished Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones. It's a pretty cute puzzle-platformer with (surprise surprise) a stealth theme. I personally found that it massively overstayed its welcome - I'd have fonder memories of it if it were half its actual length, two thirds at most. Also, possibly the most frustrating controls I've ever had to endure.

World Of Warcraft, some Minecraft, SteamWorld Heist and Rebel Galaxy.
First two you know well.
SteamWorld Heist is a 2D turn based wormsesque strategy game. You control a band of steam powered robot space pirate crew, you go around and pillage ships for phat lewts. Fun and addicting.
Rebel Galaxy is a space trading and combat game. Kinda similar to Freelancer, only simpler in controls. And large ships with broadside cannons. Really fun, addicting game, and it's on sale in Steam for those that do not turned to life of piracy. yo ho ho and a bottle of rum

I was never able to finish a domination game on even large map, 8 civs. After Industrialization, AI turns took up to 2 minutes each so I had to give up. Did you experience this or have a faster computer?

Quick movement and combat for late game does wonders, ai loooooves to spam those friggin triplanes. Civ 6's animations look smooth and quick in comparison, would hate to be forced to go quick combat cause of agonizing turn lengths for late battles.

Finished The Witcher III: Blood and Wine yesterday, preceded by Heart of Stone just before that. Story-wise I liked HoS much better and it also managed to create a great atmosphere of constant tension that this time Geralt might have bitten more than he can chew (unwillingly as usual). Blood and Wine is more casual, relaxed, a departure from the typical environment of hatred, fear, prejudice and grand politics. Still of very high quality despite the usage of plot devices here and there but lacking compared to HoS when it comes to characters.

This War of Mine is one of the 8 games I bought in this Steam Summer Sale.
The game is rather engaging, but it might take a while to get used to it, what to do, how to do. Timing day and night, surviving a war, protecting yourself, taking care of food, wounds, sick etc., helping or not people around you.
Another one I'll play is Apotheon.
Going for these short platform games. Some are really fun; going after the fashion of Ori and the Blind Forest.

Ah, yes, I had to buy those weeks ago. Always liked FF X back on PS2, and having the International version for Steam just steamed my wish to play it all over again. Still have to kill Nemesis and some of the Dark Aeons.

Tidus' eyes always freaked me out in the Remaster But 10 has such an enriching story, I love that game! Im about to play that or number 7 again. I always liked 7 a little more just because the story isn't being read to you, but theyre both so great.
I also have a serious Pokemon itch to scratch. Depending on how Sun/Moon look, I might just buy a cheap 3ds, pick up Alpha Ruby (and FE FATES ) and just dive in. Or maybe bust out the GB SP and play some blue/silver version.

Picked up South Park: The Stick of Truth in the steam summer sale. First rpg I've enjoyed in years - probably because it barely is one. The premise of the game is quite charming (for anyone unaware - the South Park kids are engaging in a LARP, with some of them wearing plastic ears to denote that they are elves and such, so it's a story within a story), although I am somewhat annoyed by the weird disconnect in the combat system. On one side, you are presented with a turn-based combat system which is obviously reliant on a pre-established agreement between the participants. Snacks playing the role of potions, enemies making quips like "hey, whose turn is it" when you're taking too long and such. On the other side, this agreement apparently still holds when you're fighting against a wild animal or someone who's pretty obviously not participating in the LARP.

SP SoT is quite entertaining indeed. Finished it not long ago. Ended up making a plastic on my face and endured the new visuals for the whole game. Thinking on buying the new SP game, although unlikely to do so with the releasing price.
