Playing through Dark Souls again on the PC this time. It's a lot easier the second time around. It's amazing how effective a naked man with a club and wooden plank can be fighting undead monsters and demons.

I beat Bioshock: Infinite last night. The game was a blast and most fun I've had with a new FPS in a long time. If I were to assign it an arbitrary numerical value, it's easily a 10/10. I could go on and on about how great it is, but you should just take my word for it and go buy it. You will not regret it.

I finished Go Home Dinosaurs, a tower defense game pitting gophers against dinosaurs trying to steal their BBQ. It has 60 short levels levels divided up into 3 worlds. It starts off pretty easy and gets more difficult. It was a fun experience with graphics that are pretty nice, especially considering it is an indie title.
I've started tower defense/rpg hybrid, called Defenders Quest. The "towers" are characters of various classes that you can level up, with the ability to assign skill points as you see fit to develop them differently. Those characters can't move when you place them (they are your "towers") and they defend your main character, who is a mage that you also level up. The main character is a mage and instead of skills she has spells that you can assign skill points to. I'm not very far along in the game yet, but I'm quite enjoying it.

How is Dark Souls as a single player game? I'm really not into pvp.

I have never played the game in pvp. The single player is a lot of fun but it can be quite frustrating at first. It is very easy to accidentally walk off cliffs to your death and enemies hit hard. Once you get the hang of it, though, it is a blast. The challenge ramps up at a decent pace too. Just be forewarned, some bosses will make you want to rage quit. Overall, I strongly recommend it.
I did a review of the game earlier.

Bought Anno 2070 on the sale, haven't played too much so far, only 2 hours. Am playing purely campaign so far, trying to figure out how to play the game, some things took me so long to think of...
So many cool different resources and buildings though, I do really like the game so far. Making it a bit more combat oriented would be more interesting though.

got hooked up to FTL- Faster Than Light. a pretty fun game, although I haven't beaten the boss yet. most of the time my crews get massacred by boarding parties or blewn to bits because of a boarding party and my failure to multitask. still a pretty fun game
Also decided to play some minecraft, and some of my friends are trying to drag me back into the dreaded MMO genre with Runes of Magic. After SW: ToR and LotRO the last attempt doesn't seem to be such a slap in the face with a wet rag.

Playing Age of Empires 2 HD edition.
Same thing as earlier but with slightly updated graphics. The fact that you can see much more of the map is actually really really nice for the gameplay.

Playin' some Europa Barbarorum, my country is knee deep in dept from the start and my armies are feeble against the onslaught of Macedon, yet somehow I managed to overcome by taking small towns and cities and evading the enemy's main army while destroying the smaller ones. At one point during this session I attacked the actual many army just to pin down and kill his general then flee. (Macedonian army numbered 3200 while mine was 1000 strong) I lost a lot of good men, but without a family member leading his army I was in a far better position to deal with the army. (which withdrew from sieging Athens the following winter, not sure why)
After that Greece quickly got out of the -6000 gold dept. Now marching north to enact justice on those Macedonian ruffians.
-Starting up Dark souls now.

For ****'s sake, Ima get my souls back for the 50th time and hopefully "save" the game. It's not dying in the same place, it's just dying.
Getting to the place you died correcting past errors (or ****ing dying on the way there because you fell of the snowing cliff) And then you die at the next segment because you have no idea what to prepare for, repeat the process.
I did learn a lot of things, giant statues are resistant to throwing daggers and like to dash at you, while stupid trees need to be rushed and killed quickly since they have a slow medium ranged attack. On my 7th life now, lost 6 humanity that I had gathered the last time I played, and 10,000 souls since I forgot things that I learned the last time I played. Urgh.
Okay new game fresh start (warrior) got a zwei hander and winged spear (can't use them yet) Highlight of my experience thus far is successfully doing a parry (?) but instead of going for the insta kill I accidentally press 'B' which is dodge, id est I jumped back and off a cliff... Not that annoying but how I went from a perfect parry to dying needs to be contemplated carefully.
