Maybe I'm better of buying the latest one actually.
Will I be horribly ****ed if I buy CoP and then go with Misery mod immediately? Looks pretty rad.
Hehe... rad.
EDIT:
K, maybe better to go middle ground with CoP and Complete. Think imma try that.
EDIT2:

"Call of Pripyat" is undoubtedly the most "finished" S.T.A.L.K.E.R., concept-wise and technically, plus the most atmospheric one. "Shadow of Chernobyl" was fairly revolutionary when it came out but it was also very buggy, unbalanced and unfinished in some areas. A bit too much action for my taste as well. "Clear Sky" was mostly a disappointment - rushed and unpolished, despite introducing a few nice things. So, CoP is what S.T.A.L.K.E.R. should have been from the very beginning.
If you have never played S.T.A.L.K.E.R., it might be better to start without the Misery mod to get the basic idea how to get the things done. The vanilla game could be fairly challenging on its own at times and the mod triples the difficulty so you might find it a bit unfunny that you have to sweat for every penny you earn, that 1-2 bullets can and will kill you fairly often and that every freakin' bullet you fire is precious, at least at the beginning.

playing Black Mesa and Pharaoh.
Black Mesa- Wow. I'm impressed with this one. some things are changed of course, but mainly for the good use of source engine and it's physics capabilities, which is nice. One thing I'm missing is the ability to aim down the sights(yea, too much MMS games for me...)
Pharaoh is a classic to me. a great city builder game of the time, although I prefer Emperor a tad bit more over Pharaoh.
Also, is Sleeping Dogs any good?

Playing Empire total war as Russia, the game feels so much better since I downloaded an AI enhancing mod, enemies show signs of real intelligence and tactic prediction from troop placements and movements, also noticeable on the world map, avoiding my main army and striking my reinforcements or moving into my lands, I lost Ukraine this way even though it was far away I couldn't mount a large enough defence.
I crushed the Ottoman invaders and the Crimea warlords with my 1st army, while my second army moved on Georgia, but both armies were heavily depleted by war casualties. My first army was utterly annihilated after a heroic stand. 2000 Russians against both superior and inferior regiments of the Crimea numbering at 5600, we butchered 4000 of them and almost won at one point, but my cavalry got routed by enemies that became "unrouted", and my flanks were enveloped on all sides by masses of men.

Yeah Call of Pripyat had a heavy start... Stalkers everywhere, map system is really clunky, major confusion on pretty much everything.
Gonna start over now that I've got somewhat of a hang of things.
Bloodsuckers are ****ing terrifying. Atmosphere can be cut with a knife, it's pretty cool.
EDIT:
*join friendly stalker on Bloodsucker hunt*
*almost get slaughtered by a mere 2 of them, crap my pants in the process*
*find entire room full of like 20 sleeping Bloodsuckers*
"HEY LET'S SNEAK THROUGH THEM"
How is this possibly a good idea you crazy ass stalker? We turn around, we arm the way we came with explosives, we seal them in. DONE.
Christ.

Don't worry, they'll send you back to clear the lair soon enough.
If a few sleeping bloodsuckers freak you out, you may reeeeally want to get your **** together before moving to Yanov, there are some pretty cute quests there where the mutants aren't that docile.

Playing Dragon's Dogma atm, and I'm putting all my energy into getting my hands on this armour set. Oh god the glory of going up against hordes of foul beasts, and grappling on the crotches of bosses, all while donned in the armour of that godlike man.

Good for you. I'm playing the game right now (close to finishing it) and though it's not the best RPG I've ever played I must say it's really good. Firstly, the game has a nicely balanced difficulty setting (even on Normal). Even if you grind a lot, many bosses are still challenging and fun to fight against. And it has the best patent in JRPG's history: you can change the random encounters value! Low on health, midway through dungeon? You can set encounter rate on 0. It's optional so you don't have to use it if you dislike handicaps, but it saves you from situations like dying and repeating the dungeon from the last checkpoint. It's also great for backtracking when hunting those treasure chests! All in all the game is really customizable as to give you the best gameplay experience. Genius!
The game is also gorgeous in 3D, has my favorite type of RPG battle mechanic (simple turn based combat), some nice monster/character design, and great music (especially Tiz's Special Attack theme is to my liking). And the whole job/ability system is very nicely done.
There are only two downsides for me in this game: firstly its plot. It's not bad, though mostly generic save the world stuff, but annoyingly it's full of those Japanese humoristic insertions like bikini contests, womanizing jokes or food-releated disputes. For a game which seems to have a serious tone (there are a lot of deaths here!) this is a bit tone breaking for me. It's a matter of tastes though, and it practically seems to always be the case with Japanese games. On a more serious note I think the story is also stretched to the extreme. Halfway through you already start noticing what's really going on (well truth be told, game designers are giving you a lot of hints), yet the characters seem too be too stupid/slow to notice it. Though I must say, doing additional side-quest made me change my opinion on the plot quite a bit. I suggest doing them not only for things like additional jobs, but they also shine some light for quite a richly-crafted lore of Luxendarc.
The other downside is that the game starts to be really repetitive in the final chapters (to the extreme even). It substantially lengthens the game experience, but the designers really took it easy with making you continuously fight the same (though a bit buffed up each time) bosses, which even have the same attack patterns every time. Thankfully, most of them are optional.
Finally, to sum it up, the game has a great price/content value (I'm already invested 70+ hours into it and still counting) so I really recommend it to all 3DS owners out there.

Continuing my quest in Call of Pripyat.
Be carrying SVU Max and Carabineer SPAS-12, feel generally awesome. Got all ranges covered.
Have adjusted to life in the zone, always ready for anything.
See crashed helicopter in the open. You won't fool me zone, I know your tricks.
Equip binoculars, scan the area, no creepy mutants waiting to gnaw on my poor stalker flesh, neato.
Equip anomaly detector, everything looks... ok? What, no psychic bull**** even? Huh.
Well ok I guess I'll just walk towards it and-

Black Mesa is brilliant. A remake of Half-Life 1 and still retaining that difficult 90's FPS vibe. They still need to to the Xen final chatper...wonder when that will happen.
Busy playing "Outlast". Survival horror game. I thought Amnesiaark Descent was the scariest game I ever played, but this one is just absolutely nuts! You bound to have a heart attack!

I'm thinking of buying CiV 5 Complete Edition (been waiting for months for such a game edition, I even waited through GOTY edition ). Do you guys think this is really the "complete" version of the game, or maybe Firaxis will still release some more stuff?
On a side note, I finished Bravely Default. The ending was OK (though nothing mind-blowing if you ask me), but overall I'm really satisfied with the experience after finishing the game. Around 83 hours of gameplay speaks for itself, and I've still left a few level ups and jobs to master...
And I must say the "special movie" that you get after finishing the game is amazing, and really shows the capabilities of 3DS...
