Thanks for your kind words. As for the Priestesses i would put them as Castle's commanders if there weren't for the Liuetenats (which don't really fit in any other town). I think they fit in Tower since their coloring is white and blue... But anyway, i don't really have an alternative so...

@lutt

Try using h3wmaped to make the duel map and you will be able to use all the creatures including WOG creatures.

I have nearly completed the Dungeon and Stronghold towns lineups. I posted the pics of Dungeon on the Slideshow Presentation, check it out. I will soon post Stronghold as well.

As you might deduce, Dungeon will be changed a lot in HoLv3.2 (compared to HoLv3.1 mod). New bandit creatures were installed and the town lineup drastically changed.

The Commanders are now Thieves, which i think is a nice touch since they "loot" the enemies after each battle (original Dungeon commanders "sold" the enemies creatures after each money for gold, i think it is more reasonable to "loot" them).

The town can rely now on stealth tactics since rogues provide the Spying ability, Kobolds hide the army each turn (former Darkness Dragons) and more creatures will have the strike and return ability.

Anyways, that's all for now. I will add the Stronghold creatures pictures in the presentation shortly so... as always...

But why cant you put Bishops in Tower and Priestesses in Castle?

I also forgot to compliment Tower lineup (Golems, Enchanters) very nice job. Only thing about lineup is that Crystal dragons somehow doesnt fit in Tower but its ok to me.

The thing about priestesses is that they are taken from H4 and so their animation doesn't really fit with Heroes iii (although it is near to it). The bishops are based on the Magi model and so they fit. As i said before i aim for a more homogenous update and leave the H4 creatures as commanders. So far i think i've accomplished that (more or less) and the creatures are practically of the same quality (as far as that is possible of course).

As for Tower i think Crystal Dragons fit in nicely as they are well... Golem Dragons (and have golem type resistance and so on).

I posted the images of Stronghold. You can see them HERE.


There are some new features here. First of all, as you might have noticed, i took the Harpies from Dungeon and aligned them in Stronghol as alternatives of the Nomads (just like Heroes 4).

Secondly, i introduced a new special ability: Fury, which means afflicted by Frenzy spell. On the other hand brutes have basic bloodlust and so almost all of Stronghold's creatures have a bonus on their offensive side.

Lastly, i changed Kilgor's special ability. I thought it would be nice to have an ability of an instant bonus-an artifact in that case-instead of a percentage bonus or anything like that. My original idea for the Barbarian King's scepter of Power is to transform Knowledge and Power skills into Attack and Defense skills, thus enhancing the Barbarian's offensive quality.

That's all for now... I have a few more details to work on both Dungeon and Stronghold and then will start with Fortress.

AWESOME!! I almost complained yesterday how theres no Harpies, but you managed it all. I never thought about removing the Harpies from Dungeon, but everything turned out to be great.

Also love the thing with Wolf Riders.

I beat you to it then...

I wouldn't delete Harpies from the game in any case. My aim is to add creatures in the Heroes III mythology and not delete them. If you observe the creatures i posted so far you'd understand that in some cases i delete the non-upgraded version of a monster type in order to add a completely new one. In this case for instance, although there aren't two types of harpies any more (harpies and harpy hags) there still are harpies in the game. Same applies for other creatures as well.

Fortress.... Fortress will be a great obstacle to overcome for me since i want to add four new creatures to it! So yes, i do have some new creatures and interesting features and abilities to install at that.

I do have one of those creatures all ready and playable but i still got to edit the other 2 of them and find a completely new tier 4 creature (to make it interchangeable with the basilisks). I am guessing that all this work will surely delay any actual news on Fortress and on the mod in general for a while.

Hey, I'm very interested in your mod. It looks very promising. I've downloaded 3.1 HoL and installed on wog 3.58f. But when I go to castle and try to buy some troops I've got black screen and nothing happens. Then I go to my desktop (windows button) and back to game and then I see an error window. I click ok, and game shuts down

Good! I already liked the last version a lot but with your skills, ideas and the lot of effort you put into this i tkink every change will make it even more awesome!
Fortress is surely worth the time

Also I really appreciate the change you've made to dungeon Again I'm eagerly awaiting the next hol-mod version.

@anonimious  have you tried the stand-alone version? This should work flawlessy

I recognise the script section the error is refering to but that never happened to me nor did i have problems with it. Maybe it happened just this once and if you start a new game it won't appear again.

I use windows 7. I also thought that new game will solve the problem. But it repeats. Although, once it worked fine, but just one time :/

EDIT: Downloaded horoes III complete, but still the same problem :/

I also have Wilndows 7 and Heroes III complete. I don't know what went wrong. If you downloaded the standalone version are you sure you followed the instructions? Because if you extracted the files on a folder that has already heroes III in it then maybe they were mixed and thus don't work well. That's why i suggest to users to extract the standalone version in a new folder and use its exe from there. Maybe you should also set the combatibility to Windows XP.

I don't know what else i can suggest to you. I am sorry it doesn't work out for you.

Oh, I extracted stand alone version in heroes folder.. I thought installiation is the same like Hol mod alone. My bad, thanks for your help. The mod is great!

I have a question - first time i played Hol 3.1v, specialty of hero Roland was upgrading peasants and militia to halberdiers, which was pretty cool to me, and every time since then, his specialty are swordsmen, why is that?
