yes we have the same options and maps, all these great mods you guys throw out is there no way of improving the tcp multi player as its always been buggy

I am currently working on editing the animations of some creatures. The progress is going quite well and i think it is fair to say that the final release is not far ahead.

However, I also work on some small details in the programming part of my mod as well. Thanks to Salamandre I was able to add yet another feature in my mod.

Since in ERA you can get all War Machines in any blacksmith (an addition that i like and use) i realised that the Ballista yard (in Stronghold) is rendered useless (since you get the Ballista anyway). So I thought I'd change it's functionality.

So now the ballista yard is replaced with the Caravansary (I think it fits with the addition of the Nomads in Stronghold and the rocky terrain in general).

The basic idea is that the building supports Caravans and so (through trade) it offers an additional income to the city. However, as an additional feature, I wanted this income to be increased if there are more "Caravans" under your banner. That means that the income would be Proportional to the number of Caravans built in Strongholds. The mathematical algorithm is this:

If x=the number of caravans and y=the total income then:

y=100*x^2

Example:

If you have 1 Caravansary built the income would be 1x100=100 gold per day.

If you have 2 Caravansaries built the income of EACH CARAVAN would be 2x100=200 gold per day. But since each Caravan produces now 200 gold per day (and not 100) you get a total of 200+200=400 per day.

If you have 3 Caravansaries built the income of EACH CARAVAN would be 3x100=300 gold per day. But since each Caravan produces now 300 gold per day (and not 100 or 200) you get a total of 300+300+300=900 per day.

The key here x^2 factor. As you see, If you have 3 Strongholds then the bonus is nearly 1000 gold per day which is a really great bonus. That means that you want to build as many as possible (provided you have Strongholds in the map). And in any case, even 100 gold per day is a good bonus and it will pay for itself in a few weeks and you will start to have profit by it.



So that's all for now... I will continue working on editing the final version of my mod (so that it becomes as good as I can get it). I will be posting my progress again soon.

Well done, Hero of Light. BTW, a little off-topic, hwo does the Escape Tunnel work in Stronghold? I never used it and I never saw a CPU use it.

The Escape tunnel allows you to retreat when defending the town (something that ordinarilly you could not do).

I haven't really decided the cost yet. I may lower it down a bit (maybe remove the precious resources cost). Or in the other hand I may only let the precious resources on and remove the wood/ore and gold cost. I haven't fully decided yet what the final cost will be.

However, that's actually the basic idea, since the income is exponentially increased, you may want to build this as soon as possible and gain the profit early in the game. And I don't think the cost matters that much (as long as it is somewhat low). For example, with just two Strongholds you get 400 gold per day (2800 gold per week) which is a substantial boon for your income. It's like having an additional hero with the +350 gold per day bonus. Not bad at all

Price in crystals is bad idea since Barbarian needs them to quickly build Behemoth's lair imo. I would suggest 5 wood, 10 ore + 2000 gold.

What changes wich you haven't showed us yet will be in next version? I know i should be patient but i can't.
You've write that last version will be finished in summertime, right? So we can enjoy it soon. I can't wait.

As i said in my previous posts, most of the changes in my new mod are ready and it is (in a way) more or less playable. I am currently polishing some animations and make some small adjacements here and there... In all probability the final version mill be ready in a month or so. The only great task left to do is to make a new campaign:



Furthermore, I have to edit the 5 old ones as well (in order to have them fit in the new changes). This will take some weeks i think, because I want to make the campaigns more complex and fun to play. For the Tales of Amadar campaign I have a few very nice ideas on how it will unfold. However, I can't share them at the moment to avoid spoilers so you have to wait

So to sum up, there aren't a lot of changes left to post and the final version draws near to its release. So stay tuned for more!

HI

I need help. I'm in second mission in Crimson Tides and i need one Leviathan. I got to the lair, but it sells Gorynches... it's bug, or i'm doing something wrong??

PS. sry for my english...

and one more thing. what about new creature? there suppoused to be Arbalist, or somthing like that, but there are hippogryphs.

That means you don't have the right WOG options ON. In the first page of this thread are the WOG options needed in order to get HoL mod to work properly.

hmmm... strange. I downloaded HoL standalone version, loaded WoGSetupEx.dat and that's all. Maybe i'll try it step by step. Anyway thanks for help! And keep up GOOD work!

hmm... i checked WOG options and everything is all right, please check it, or tell me what i made wrong...

First of all, when you download the standalone version, the correct WOG options are already ON. So you don't have to actually change anything, you're good to go.

Secondly, even with the correct WOG options you have to restart the scenario (not the campaign just the current scenario) in order to have that map WOGified again. It wouldn't work another way.

One way to know if all works OK is to check the Hero of Light tutorial and see if all the changes mentioned are there. It gotta be the last scenario in the single player game.

I am begining to think you did the same mistake that a lot of other users made and referenced in this thread's pages. If you downloaded the Standalone version and REPLACED your original WOG setup you had in your computer then this always leads to problems. The Standalone version needs to be extracted in a new folder (that's why it's a Standalone version).

My advise is to download it again, follow the instructions (for the Standalone version) in the first page and then without changing anything in the WOG options, start the Hero of Light tutorial. If everything seem in place there, then you're good to go. If not, well... then I can't help you any further.

Hello,

I can't get this mod to work. I've tried everything, both with the standalone version and the other.
Whenever I run the game, the screen turns black and the computer freezes. Could it be a faulty WoG, or have I installed it incorrectly?
I'm using 64-bit Win7 if that's of any help.

EDIT:
Fixed it now. Just the firewall preventing it from running properly, helped by disabling it.
