Whats the difference between the standalone version and normal crimson tides? and i cant wait for v3.2 (when? ), EASILY the best wog mod available in my opinion, just fantastic

There are no differences between them in the gameplay if that's what you ask. The only difference is in how they are installed (see first page). Also the Standalone has a different WOG menu but that doesn't affect the gameplay.

As for HoLv3.2 I am hoping it will be ready in July. It's hard to tell though, because I've been busy these past weeks and will be still this month... Still, I hope that I'll have it ready (and compatible with ERA II as well) by mid-July.

Hi there! I have not played Homm or Wog for a couple of years or more but recently decided to install it again and see if it runs on my windows 7. It installed fine but I had a couple of disappointments, first one being that I could not play vanilla Homm as it kept asking for CD even though it was in my drive. I went ahead and installed Wog anyway and lo and behold it ran fine! Just that I can't play SOD campaign now but I've been kept happy with some new wog maps I found

Then I came across this page and downloaded Hero of Light 3.1 (not standalone)

I was very excited, I played for a few minutes, fought one or two creatures and recruited some wenches, I was VERY impressed with what I saw but when I came to the succubus, I initiated the fight and it crashed with this message 'Unable to find 'sprite 'resource'' and it does that every time at the succubus.

I'm very disappointed and don't know how to fix this, I tried a new install of Homm/Wog/Hol, but get same problem. I am wondering if there's a file missing or something, but funny nobody else seems to get this problem. Please try to help me, can you suggest anything?

There can be a couple of things you did wrong.

Firstly, since as you say you're not that familiar with WOG you may have neglected the obligatory WOG options needed for this mod to work.

Secondly, you might not have the appropriate WOG edition for this to work. In order for this mod to work you have to install an additional package of adventure map objects.

What I always suggest in these cases is this: try the Sandalone version. Heroes will start without a cd anyway and it works perfectly fine (it already has the objects package and the appropriate WOG options on it).

On July I will release the final version of this mod, which will be compatible with ERA II as well so (if nothing of the above works for you) I suggest you wait a little bit.

Hey thanks for such a fast reply! I did not set anything in Wog, so should have had default settings, I played through first scenario ignoring the succubus and finished to the end, but after choosing starting bonus for next scenario it crashed with a message about pine trees! I'm off to follow your advice and install the standalone version and will be very happy if it works!

I have some great news for all the fans of this mod...

The mod is practically ready! All the animations and programming have been finished! The only thing left for me to do is to make the new campaign and edit the old ones (and of course test it extensively to find if there are any bugs).

I set up a release date:

**25th of July, 2012**

That means that in a month or so you will be able to download and play the new version of this mod. Even if the mod isn't quite finished by then I will at least post a beta version of it on this date. Hopefully this won't be necessary

But wait... there's more!

I also prepared a teaser trailer (a sneak preview if you will) of the various features installed for you when the mod is ready. You can watch it HERE on Dailymotion (I will post it on youtube as well).

Hope you enjoy and as always, stay tuned for more!

Hello. Me and my wife have been playing your mod for a couple of years now, and it has really ment a lot to both of us! I just want to thank you so very much for creating this fantastic piece of work. 3.2 is going to be even better! Your new preview video deserves praise as well - very nicely put together. Brilliant choises you have made - Bad things gone, old things restored, best things kept, new things added. 25 of july is my birthday, and allready now I know that it your mod will be the the best of presents! One thing that I noticed in the teaser trailer is that the Training Grounds where the champions are produced is called the "Training Grouns"

Just thought I'd point that out

If you want it for the script, I told you that I found a simpler solution. There were other small errors in the 3rd slot script as well but I think I fixed all of them now...

If I am guessing correct you're having trouble with Castle because it uses two of the 4 unused elemental creatures (122-128). Just add random defs in your lod with the names: bad1, bad2, bad3, bad4 (erase the def extension). This will work. But again I am thinking this won't be necessary.

I wanted mainly the creatures. I started test map, built the castle, first upgraded portal of glory, then built the griffin, I did not find any problem. But when picking neutral town in options, won't start because missing defs. If you are happy with the script now, then is ok, let me know, so I stop looking.
