Hi,

I joined here just so I can say a big ''thank you'' and job well done. I really like how you did new creatures and all, tho I have a question. Campaigns don't work, I get bitmap16 error for armagedon's blade and the latest campaign doesn't work either. Do you know how to fix it ?

Continue doing such an amazing job.

Well, it's actually lost in the forums somewhere...

You can get it for ERA II in the ERA II Mods and maps thread. HoLv3.1 for ERA II is found also there...

However, I also released the newer version of my mod (in my previous post there's a link) for ERA II. You can give that a try also (although it doesn't have any campaigns yet).

INSTALLATION

Extract all files to your Heroes 3 folder
(should be something like C:\Program Files\3DO\Heroes Complete).
Replace where necessary.
Then run the update (H3wUpd in Heroes folder) and let it install.
Load the appropriate WOG Options (found in the readme file).
Play the Game!

***For ERA II***
Extract all files to "Mods" folder
(If ERA II is installed you will find it in your Heroes III folder).
Load the appropriate WOG Options (found in the readme file).
Play the Game!

You could also choose the appropriate WOG Options manually:

OBLIGATORY WOG OPTIONS:

**For HoL v3.0 and v3.1**

1)Neutral Town should be ON
2)Rampart/Faerie Dragon option should be ON
3)Troop stack experience should be ON
4)Universal creature upgrades should be ON
5)Extended creature upgrades should be OFF
6)Some dwellings have upgraded creatures should be OFF
7)Ban all WOG artifacts (because they are combination artifacts now)

I found the ERA II thread, and got both ERA II exe and new patch. I extracted both, but when I try to extract new patch folder, I got an error saying tools/installmod.exe not found, but it's there, in tools folder. Is there a tutorial how to install this things or something ? It's quite confusing

Oh, this post is related to my original problem ( not being able to play campaign with 3.1 mod version )


EDIT : NVM, did something strange and oddly, it's fixed.
Will try 3.2 now, thanks for the tips.

Some of you had trouble with the creatures' growth in HoLv3.2. If that is the case, these steps followed may solve the problem.

Go to HoLv32 folder: (Heroes Complete/Mods/HoLv32) and then go to ERA plugins folder.

Copy the "battery.dll" plugin and paste it in the ERA Plugin folder found in "WOG" folder as well: (Heroes Complete/Mods/WOG)

And by that you condemn the whole folder to work with only your mod, out from 20, because battery will conflict with every other mod.

I tested the game several weeks and growth is correct, maybe these people just not knowing how to play or they jumped in some battery bug by doing specific actions I could not find. In such cases, a save is required to investigate before moving any files.

But battery.dll is just an ERA plugin... It doesn't work without scripting... And anyone could easily download it from WOG Archive in the first place and place it in the ERA plugins folder (by his own will). I don't see how this may conflict with other mods.

But in any case I will edit the posts back to their normal state and keep this instruction just for those who seem to have problem with the growth.

I'm also having problems with creature growth : the Enchanted Spring stopped producing creatures once upgraded. I installed HoLv32 -carefully following instructions- in a clean H3 Complete + ERA II 2.98f made a few hours ago. Unfortunately, following your steps didn't make it work ..

I'm sorry it didn't work out... I don't have anything more to suggest. I don't know If you have any other mods as well and this problem occurs by any interaction with them. I don't know what to say, because it works OK in my computer.

Hmm, this is what I think, the multi-screen thing so you can recruit double upgraded units is the only real change to anything near those problems.

Maybe a side by side comparison to a newly downloaded version to your version HoL? Might be people are missing some part of the mod.

I can't seem to run the mod and I came up with the same error as you did. Could you specify the solution to your problem.

As for the mod
Hero of Light, your job looks fantastic, I just can't wait until I run the game with your mod. I am new to this community and I want you to know that your mod alone made me sign up in HC. Keep it up!

Ok very strange : upgraded enchanted springs doesn't work for a random map but works on the arrogance scenario (the one enabled by default). This scenario already has the city hall and homestead built, among other core buildings. There must be something going strange after some building is purchased so that upgraded pegasi growth stops working.

(I looked through this after a clean installation, HD on H3Complete, then Era II, then HoLv32).

On this forum, noone except myself had this issue ?

Well, I can't know what might be the problem. The only things I can give are the usual troubleshooting suggestions:

-> Make sure you installed ERA II correctly

-> Make sure you extracted all files in the right folder (Mods folder)

-> Make sure you don't have any other mods (that change a lot of things around that is) in the folder (or more correctly that they are placed in the Off folder for future use). New adventure objects mod is however needed for the campaigns and map editor.

-> Make sure you copied the ERA plugins found in HoLv32 folder in the WOG folder as well (seems to work for some users who have trouble with the creature growth)

-> Make sure you loaded the appropriate WOG Options

Other than that I can't suggest anything else really. I'm sorry If it doesn't work out for you.

Did you ever figure out what caused this?  It's stopping me from starting a map.

Guys, not a single save is uploaded or asked? How can a mod run without post-release fix from saved games? There is no such thing as "it works here, I don't know why not for you". With the million possible situations due to different wogification, nothing is static in a game. Upload saves, so one can check, with F12 now it is possible to see exactly why something not working. If growth errors are coming from battery dll, there is no way to correct it without precise error logs.

@Italo-calvino, it is the map you play the problem. Upload save before the error.

Hmm, but this happens just as I wogify on turn 1 before I can play at all ... should I try different map settings?
