That's exactly what I did in the first place and if you had used winrar to extract the rar file then the folder would appear as it should. When you try extracting it with something else (say 7z) it malfunctions. But you are correct, all these files need to be in a folder located in the Mods folder (and winrar does that already as a default).

***Hero of Light mod v3.22***

Features of this new update:

-> Some small bugs referring to WOG options are fixed
-> Some creature stats and abilities are changed
-> Former HoL versions' Campaigns are included
-> New "Tales of Amadar" campaign is included
-> New tutorial map included
-> 2 new creatures and a new Rampart lineup installed
-> A few new/tweaked heroes (specialities, hero portraits etc)
-> Planeswalkers start with Spell Book and adventure map spells


As promised, I included the campaigns in this update. The 4 Sir Christian campaigns from HoLv3.0 and the Crimson Tides campaign from HoLv3.1 are there. They are edited and made fully playable for the Tales of Amadar expansion. However, the cornerstone of this update is the brand new campaign that has the same title as the expansion itself. The tales of Amadar campaign is (in my opinion) the best one I made so far and the most intriguing. New Haven heroes (including Emilia) are introduced in this campaign. The scenarios have various winning conditions and not just "defeat all enemies". The expansion also got some new Haven (and campaign) hero portraits installed. A few tweaked specialties and starting spells.

Additionally, I made a new tutorial map. By clicking the Tutorial button in the New Game menu you will be able to explore all the new features of my mod (new creatures, objects, artifacts etc). The tutorial is (as any tutorial should be) easy for experienced players but could be proven quite challenging for beginners. However, there is no opponent and the mission is to clear the area of wandering creatures (with no time limit). By doing this I allow the beginner to take their time, explore and learn the game as well as the HoL features.

**NOTE**

In order to play the campaigns and tutorial map you need the New Objects patch v1.9 installed (as stated in the first post of this thread).

On a closing note, I would like to present the new idea of Haven's Might heroes starting with a spellbook. Since Conflux (new Haven) is the most magical town of the neutrals (f.i. the magic University, fifth level mage guild and the grail that gives all spells) I thought it right to have the might heroes start with spell books too. I think the idea is fitting that every alignment should have a town with that feature. So Tower is the magical town of the Good and Necropolis for the Evil. Now Haven is for the Neutral.

Since the Planeswalkers roam the earth, I thought it would be a nice touch to give them adventure map spells instead of offensive battleground spells. I think this is actually a nice and fitting addition (and you might see that most of the spells are given accordingly to the hero's specialty and bio).

I hope you enjoy this update and all bugs are now resolved If that is the case, this may well be the last update on the HoL series... Still, who knows? Maybe there will be more in the future...

Question about network TCP/IP game... We played using hamachi and Hero of Light 3.2 mod and there were some critical bugs during the human to human player combat which ruined all the game. It was like I saw that my opponent should make a turn but he saw that I should. Does anyone played well TCP/IP game with Hero of Light 3.2? May be the situation became better in 3.22 update? Thanks.

I had the exact same problem when I play Heroes III via TCP/IP in general. It isn't about my mod or WOG or ERA or anything. Regrettably, Heroes III is bugy that way. The only way around it is to replay the battle again and again till it works (which is annoying).

The only way a multiplayer game will work bug free is either on Hotseat or TCP/IP with a cable (not through the internet).

Hi there. My problem with this mod is that when I'm loading new game(with lots of scripts), it always says that I have not enought internal memory(30MB) so I cannot play with my favourite scripts!
Any suggestions, please?

In Era mods main page there are 2 versions with different titles, 3.1 and 3.2. When both of them are installed 3.1 is overwritten. Is it an outdated version or is something different from 3.2 and if we are to install only one of them is the 3.22 in this thread latest?

When i install this mod, i see no map called Heroes of Light in the list. Is it a mod to play any map including random maps or does it have it's own special scenario(s)?

I think you should only have installed the latest version.

And this mod came with it's own campaigns --> Heroes 3 Complete\Mods\HoLv32\Maps\ and here you are.

And also you can play any scenario or random map.

Hi ALL!

As I stated the previous month I am currently serving my country's military service and won't be able to post on this forum as often as I would like. But still, I will be posting whenever I am able.

The ERA mods thread doesn't have the updated version of my last mod as far as I'm concerned. If someone could add it that would be nice. To answer your other question this is a mod not just a map. It has various changes (as is presented in the first post of this thread).

To which version are you referring? If you are referring to the latest then if you have the latest version of ERA installed then it shouldn't be a problem. Older versions of ERA have renamed scripts and so the new ones would be added and so your problem would occur. Try reinstalling ERA on a clean version of Heroes III.

v3.22 on this page of this thread didnt work under Era 2.4. The game menu interface didn't change, the heroes didnt change and so on. i loaded v3.2 from Era Mods thread and it installed fine. Since when both are installed 3.2 overwrites 3.1, i didnt install Crimson Tides seperately. i only loaded Tales of Amadar.

Edit: Ok, i found out what the problem was. The v3.22 version is a rar file you have to decompress and place in mods folder manually, not an installer exe. so i just did that, however winrar creates a Hol folder within a Hol folder while decompressing so the game doesnt recognize the mod. All you have to do is get rid of the extra folder.

When you have the time can you explain  (as "For Dummies" style) how you changed the icons and infos of specialties in Begin Game menu. Even in a stand-alone post which can later be a sticky maybe. Not the ERM stuff, the stuff that shows before ERM scripts are active, before wogification:

You need to edit the UN32 and UN44 defs to have that effect. It's a little complicated though make sure you understand how they work and then arrange the appropriate icons through ERM.

where are the icons located? the icons of specialty blind, fire elemental etc etc...you can pick them with erm and they show up automatically in game but where are they as a file?

Use the defview to see how the UN32 and UN44 defs work. Their function is pretty much the same with twcrport and cprsmall defs. The icons are placed in the order of heroes. Orrin is the first hero so the first icon is archery and so on. As I said study the def and you'll understand how it works. As for the ERM command part you must add this:

!!UN:G2/43/3/43;  [set speciality pic]

If you edit the UN defs properly then blind will show in both start menu and hero screen.

how can you send me or upload in another host? because i cant upgrade, the other version is not balance, only the last version Hero of Light mod v3.22 is balance, it is my opinion ?


I have ideas about new town about Asian town , like Japan or Vietnamese, something like that ? any 1 want to develop it ?
