ONLY if you have Vista and you are SURE that you followed the right procedure. It isn't that difficult to follow, just read the first post of this thread carefully that's all.

Hi, do i need to download all 3 files (3.0, 3.1 and 3.2) in order to play latest version, or only 3.2? Since recent version is by far the biggest in size so i thought that both expansions are included along with original mod.

I didn't say there were any instructions for Vista in the first post. Just the installation instructions. I don't know what is wrong with your installation. If you want install ERA and my mod again if it doesn't work. I don't know what else to suggest.

I answered that. It will be fixed in the next update (early November). They were replaced with Azure Dragons.

I think the problem is that you're playing Heroes in polish. There was another HC member that had problem with that. That's why the ZCRTRAITS.txt doesn't work properly. I can't help you there.

I am currently developing the new update of my mod (HoLv3.22) and I thought I'd share some of the progress (and I have some nice pics to share too).

First of all, I edited the Haven heroes a bit. Some new hero portraits are introduced there. One hero's speciality was changed and another hero's name was changed as well. There were also three new hero portraits added in the hero portrait collection (that were used to create unique campaign heroes). I changed the original SoD portraits of Gem, Sandro and Yog since they were already characters of HoMM3 and so they could be replaced (i edited the SoD campaigns so that the portraits match as well). Here is the new Haven heroes lineup and the campaign heroes that will be introduced on the Tales of Amadar campaign:



I am currently working on the Tales of Amadar campaign. The basic idea of this campaign is that you start as Emilia, the Wizard that fled Bracada and found a new nation in Amadar:



Once you've finished the first map, all the rest of them will be unlocked (each with a different tale of the new nation of Amadar):



In each of these scenarios you'll explore the story of one of the new Haven heroes. That means that each scenario is a different tale (and so there is no continuity). The idea behind this is that all of these stories shape the history of Amadar. You will be able to play them in any order. Here are a few screenshots of the scenarios:







HoLv3.22 will be ready and released soon (early November).

    Hey, everyone

  That looks pretty sweet! Can't wait for the update!

  On a related note, I have a question. Been playing with the option enhanced commanders (they cast 2 spells instead of one and start with a basic skill like no enemy retaliation, 30% chance to block damage etc) and no matter what skill combination I choose in order to get Death Stare, it shows me that I got it on the commander yet it's disabled during fights. This is weird, can anyone test this and let me know if it's the same for them? Or is it meant to do that?

Several descriptions are wrong, commanders were modified for 3.58, death stare was replaced by cast poison and fire shield by magic mirror.

Oh yea, cool, I remember that update. However, if you choose NOT to have enhanced commanders so that they all start with no special skill and cast 1 spell only, shouldn't they have Death Stare if you choose the path correctly? I need to test this out. =)


Just tested that, if you DISABLE the enhanced commanders option and get a clean slate for the skill choice and follow the skill path correctly, you DO get the death stare. Thanks!

Hello! I'd ask for some help with installing this great mod.

I've played Heroes 3 with WoG expansion before and have now found HoL mod. I've reinstalled WoG with Era II as it says in the instructions for installing HoL v3.2 . This installed successfully, but when tried the HoL v3.2 , I don't see any difference in my game. The Main Menu screen is still from WoG and everything else too. I don't see the features of HoL 3.2 in my game.

Now I have followed the instructions for installing it, I've decompressed the downloaded .rar file and extracted the files into the Mods folder and applied the obligatory WoG options, as it says in the Readme. But I still see no new features from your mod.

Do I have to activate something so that the mod starts working. Because as of now, I'm seeing nothing new in my game, apart of the WoG features.
If someone has any idea what might help, I'd appreciate it a lot.

Go to the folder Tools and then ModManager and see if my mod is on the list (it should be top priority).

@Warmonger

I'm glad you like them. Colorful was actually what I was aiming to, since Amadar is supposed to be the magical place of Nature (and it should fit with the Conflux town background). That's why I added a lot magical plains, faeries that give +1 luck etc. I hope you'll like the campaign as well, it has diverse scenario objectives.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply.
Good news, I got it to work! I'm so excited!

When I checked the mod manager, there were some files named Data, mp3 and such, they were from your downloaded file. I experimented a little with those, so I made a new folder and put everything from your .rar file inside, then put this new folder I named HoL into Mods folder, which is in my Heroes directory.

I'd recommend you to update your downloaded file, just to avoid confusion I've had. You have to put those folders (data, mp3, Eraplugins and those files like the icon and the HoLv3.2.dat into a new general folder, then compress it.
