Yeah I already switched the models for one of my companions, about the only good thing about the mod till they get a proper voice actor. My ears were bleeding within moments.

I believe I've mentioned ESO's thing where they take questions and answer them in-character. They had one with Haskill. And he gives an answer with...interesting implications...
Quote: I am a Vestige, all that remains of a mortal from your world who 'mantled' Sheogorath during an event in a previous time. As a fragment, my memory of the event is … fragmentary. I am hazy on the entire concept of 'mantling,' but it had something to do with Lord Sheogorath, myself, and this Jyggalag of whom you speak.
So...Wulf? Or any of the Shezarrine? Could they be Vestiges of Lorkhan, Talos, etc?

It looks like there was some trouble on Steam during the mods pay moment. I tried today to restart Skyrim (after some 3 months pause) and got told all mods I subscribed no longer exist.
Quite frustrating, why Steam doesn't allow downloading mods from and you're done for ever.

It's a good thing my Redguard in Oblivion is a paladin-sort. If my Altmer mage had taken the Slaughterfish quest he'd probably have gone off and murdered the NPC that gives it. Stupid. Bloody. Fish!

Skyrip
^ Small mod tip. It simply replaces all your loading screens, the loading screen smoke and all stuff related to loading with nothingness. Depending on your PC, it can drastically improve your load times.
I see some pretty large improvements but mostly I just enjoy not reading random gameplay tips during loading that pull me out of the immersion.
Try it, it's non-esp non-script, just replacement files so no worries for your savegame. Might change your experience quite a bit!

Negative. My Redguard is, as I said, a paladin-sort (Knights of the Nine, here I come!) and my Altmer just laughed in the NPC's face when he tried to bring it up and thus never heard about the gold.

Not bad, actually I see serious improvements, thanks. I am curious about how they partitioned the world to be loaded. I can get it that fast travel from Riften to Winterfold needs some loading time, different area, textures, weather, but sometimes it takes me same delay when exiting Riften saloon.
All in all, seeing also the mod you link and how easy was to remove some, it is obvious that they didn't give a f**k about loading times, so probably the code too is bad.

I didn't know you could bring Martin with you immediately after getting to the Chapel. Hooray for invincible followers! Pity he has a bad habit of agroing every Scamp in Castle Kvatch...

I asked for help on coming up with a recipe for a drink mentioned in passing in the latest Loremaster's Archive. What I got were links to these--real-life equivalents to the special drinks for sale in Riften:

a fast easy way to end up in the morgue. snort some coke when you drink this for extra yoloswag points!
whoever was the first to come up with the thought to consume strong liquor with a bloody energy drink is a bloody retard.
the other two seem decent fancy cocktails however.
I've started another toon on skyrim, a breton mage-thief-assassin broad. pro-empire.

I'm getting too frustrated over this game...
I wanted to make animations but no... Either they don't export or they don't work in game...
I'm returning to Oblivion...

Yeah, I know Skyrim's suppose to be made so that all is seen through your eyes, but the game could really use some cutscenes and more cinematic approach. It simply lacks epicness, yet the plot was screaming for it (a siege on a city with 30 people total on both sides? WTF?)... an immersive world is not enough when every world-changing event in it looks cheap...

If it was built for modding it isn't exactly a good job. It's still missing ways to add new weapon styles, easily adding animations and easily working with the models, in Oblivion it's easier to swap skeletons and animations, it's possible to emulate new weapon styles.
These are the only things that spring up to mind though, but they were severely impairing my enjoyment of the modding activity...

I think you just picked the absolute worst area to mod.
Animations have always been tricky business in these games for some reason... really something Beth could work on. Rest of the game's aspects are pretty accessible for modding afaik.
Compared to Oblivion we have the XP32 skeleton to have fun with at least... dual wield sheathing with animations... animated dragon wings etc... never felt we had something comparable in Oblivion that didn't end up working wonky as hell.

In oblivion I could make my own animations tho...
It's just that I'd like changing these over the top attacking animations to some that are more "realistic".

I wouldn't be playing Skyrim if no mods. I consider them as the top needed extension, removing tedious actions, fixing so-and-so areas, bug fixes, better immersion. Naturally, having the choice through 35 000 mods helps a lot, not everything is making the game better.
