Conjuration has a nice perk that allows you to stay stealthed while casting, meat shields are nice, though I tend to put a few arrows into their backs >.<

archery can be more stealthy, but you can also play in a rogue-mage style with a bit of illusion/sneak.. Quiet Casting perk works rly nice. ;]

hey ppl, do you know any good magic-related mod to recommend? Something to make magic scale a little better maybe... I also read somewhere that the blizzard spell is bugged.
the dmg is being affected by your magic res and frost res.. That's sad lol, blizzard is one of the most badass spell imo.

Take your pick from these:
Improved Destruction Magic, if you just want more destro power
Better Magic, more power for ultimate carnage
Balanced Magic, not so overpowered anymore
Phenderix Magic Evolved, also has other accompanying mods, a really big overhaul for magic
Also these are good:
Magic Duels, just so fricking sweet
New Casting Animations, cool for that, GROVEL YOU MONGREL!, when you barbecue or electrifrie them

Playing a spellsword and man I am loving the TK COMBAT mod. It fits so damn well to my character.
ROLLING THUNDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! MUAHHAHAHAHAHHAAA! 
Although that water splash is so OP it's not even fun. 
The little elemental boost effects afterwards are a really nice touch.
Here's my current character. Meet Artea Shar. A Dunmer Spellsword who lost her left eye to a firespell as a child. Now it fuels her innate fire abilities and as such she prefers to wield a blade in her right and a spell in her left hand.
Just got some nice destructive vampiric armour, +50% mana regen, even more ROLLING THUNDAAAAAAA!

Left hand rings and travel lantern ^^
Travel lantern really is a must with Climates Of Tamriel. Nights can be so frickin' dark now. Meeting Master Vampires at night was OMG I AM SO DEAD. After initial *krhm*, tactical positioning, I remembered they were weak to fire. Ancestor's wrath + firebolt + fire enchanted sword = bye bye vamps, welcome new great armour of mine.

lol nice pic! And thanks for the tips JoonasTo, I used Better Magic the last time I played skyrim. I liked the changes in destruction, the impact nerf, mage armor, the new dragonhide, you can dual cast a lot of things.. However, there were some things I think became OP hehe, like healing, some cc spells lasting a lot, but a nice mod, imo.
I was checkin this one Empowered Magic. Looks good and it also fix the blizzard bug! 
I also tested Requiem and rly liked it, the problem was that the "subjetive descriptions" were killing me. lol
I will wait for a version with numbers or a bigger readme explaining the changes.
Magic Duels and the animations looks nice. will check this out.

Edit: Winced a little when I realized Aethra couldn't have been more than eleven when they executed her. >.<

More could be more than zero...or more likely he might have resisted arrest after the executing-his-daughter bit. But even with that, they could have just taken her away and had someone else raise her. (Or dumped her in an orphanage, although that would arguably have been just as bad given who runs it.)

I'm guessing adoption in Skyrim is like adoption in old Europe, slavery. But still, better than dying right? Then again, if she was ready to take Braig's place, she might not be the most wanted...
If they had other family, still would probably hate the regime for jailing daddy.

Doesn't stop him from trying to fight in that condition (I may be using the wrong terminology; but my reasoning is that just because they tie his hands and put a guard on him saying "you're arrested!" it doesn't become impossible for him to kill someone at that point--just harder.) And I wasn't thinking of other family members, I was thinking of shipping her out of the area entirely (or raise her as a Silverblood, but I doubt that would work or that they'd try it).

I'm a thief with high sneak skill and light armor. I have a companion tank, heavy armor. Is my sneak ability affected by my companion?

Well that's kind of what I wondered. Can I still sneak around with her following me, or do I need to ditch her and get a lightly armored companion?
Also, Ad you've suggested a number of mods throughout this thread, many of your posts highlighting a dozen or so. Do you have all those suggestions in one place by any chance? I'd like to look through them.
I love archery by the way. Especially shooting Forsworn at point blank range and watching them fly backward dead like pieces of paper caught in a gale.

No I don't have them all in one place, could check through them later and pick out the ones that are still relevant and replace the others though. Might be fun. I play little Skyrim nowadays but I do keep up with the modding community.
Not sure if lightly armored ones make any difference, to be honest I've never used a non-modded companion.

I believe there are a few companions that specifically are sneaky if you're looking for them but they still launch traps. Which is kinda no-no if going sneaky in hideouts. Otherwise I think they work fine in vanilla already.
