I actually like the Heroes 2 Necropolis town screen more. It just feels like a ghost town that I wouldn't want to walk down the streets of!
That Heroes 6 town screen is the first I've seen. Wow.. that is the most uninspired thing imaginable lol.

I still can't understand why they dont want to use their concept-arts as town windows.
Look - it takes me 30 minutes to make animation for the spinning little pyramid on the top of 2d image. Now I can add 2 special structure and Town gate And It will be much better than 3D.
NOW
WHY NOT?

Don Komandorr, you are awesome. If it only took you 30 minutes to do that, then the developers have absolutely no excuse.
Great job.

I'm planning to add 3 buildings and obelisks to the capitol with animations and throw it in Ubis face. Like if even an average fan can make a decent town screen from their concept art for several hours, why can't they make it for 2 months?

I just don't understand why did they change the placeholder to the actual town screens, when even if there's not too much details, the placeholder looks better...

I never thought I would miss the old town screens as much as I do, but these current "town window abominations" really need to be fixed.
Like the example with the town in the main menu. Please can't we have a town screen like that?!
The good thing though is that the towns on the map is bloody brilliant.

Man, I hope it will be possible for modmakers to replace the town screens. I think I'd get into making some town screens myself if that were possible.
Anyway, I was playing inferno today to see if they really are underpowered (and they are). I love the town music and the town screen, but when you build fortifications, the friggin' wall starts moving when the camera moves! And there's another glitch there. I'd really like to see improvements before the beta ends.
- Full screen
- All buildings showing (popping up as we build them)
- Interactive (I want to be able to click on the buildings in addition to using the menu)

Don, do you do particle effects?
If so, maybe you could animate the ground fog slightly too.
That'd be all kinds of awesome.

OMG don_komandorr you're so damn AWESOME!
It took him 30 minutes to create something 10x more awesome than what Ubihole has conjured.
Still not enough... but ****, you're one guy and not a development team so fricking KUDOS to you man!
Ubihole now has zero excuses. ONE FAN can do a better job than them.
YOU GO MAN!

awesome how the placeholder actually looks better than the final town.
I think nighterror was whinning about my little pony-like graphics, and that's exactly what that necropolis looks like.

That is mainly because of the color scheme.
The developers sought inspiration from (and I quote):
Quote: Ancient Egypt (Book of the Dead), Buddhism (asceticism and rejection of the world of flesh as illusory and transient), all kinds of sects (fanaticism, cult of the leader, fascination with order and purity).
End quote.

Still, imagine this thing suddenly taking off and starting to bombard the surroundings with plasma.
And here's another clue that it might actually be a ship:
