oh... and what's the deal with starting a multiplayer game... you need to create a hero for each faction to play as/against it... that was kinda weird... Was'nt a huge fan of that... hopefully thats just a placeholder as well

Played about 3 hours single-player - pretty awesome, though, as expected, my PC (quad-core, 8 gigs of RAM) really struggles to run it without a dedicated video card. I was hoping it'd be about as functional as H5, but it's a good bit more demanding, even with the settings on low. But, still, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I can't really see forking over $120 for a card, though - Heroes is the only game I play on the PC anymore, so that's hard to justify, much less having to worry about even more heat in the case...

My one-hour foray after waking up into the campaign turns up this question:
Is it just me, or are the projectiles for Succubi and Archers peculiarly slow for some reason? I did crank up the combat speed to somewhat "natural" (i.e., movement for the units). Melee combat for the units was fine, just the projectiles it seems.
I assume the cutscenes having voiceovers and music, but not sounds (I mean, the Orc punching the ground having no boom?!), is intended since this is just a Beta. Having less resource is a change that takes some getting used to.
Other than that, everything else is excellent.

could someone verify something? are the demands of the game the same in pre beta and beta and finally in the final version?
Because I cannot say I have a powerful graphics card (one of the top 20-30 only in 2009) and I could play prebeta in TOP GRAPHICS excellently.

I'd think that as long as your specifications fit the recommended ones, there shouldn't be a problem. I personally don't have a powerful graphics card (512 MB NVIDIA GeForce G210M here) and I play without a hitch on high for all the setting options. At least, I do hope that the projectiles being slow aren't caused by my graphics card.

you should hope that it is because of your card and not because of the game!
EDIT: and to verify something. the downloaded file's name is "public closed beta" right?

It was already the case in the private beta. They forgot to include projectiles into the animation speed-up

It does seem like they're going for an overall lower number of creatures, to go with the much larger HP bars of each creature, which I'll also have to play more to form an opinion on.
They're not. Core creature growth gets silly when you have a fully built town and a dwelling, unless it's a bug I was pulling in about 50 Lilim per week in my first game last night.

That's because you have a shared growth between all your towns and dwellings. You won't be able to recruit 50 Lilims in each castle, you have 50 Lilims per week through all your castles + dwellings and recruiting them all in one castle means that you'll have none in the others
Just noticed they remixed 2 new musics themes : The H5 grass theme (which is already annoying me ) and my beloved swamp theme from H2 !

Truth, but I only had one castle (plus one core dwelling)

... so all towns and dwellings increase your pool of growth, but you can recruit your entire growth from a single location? No more running heroes between towns to amass a massive army?

Never said it made sense It's just their way of getting rid of the caravans ...

So I guess they still have their multipliers wrong
Though they tuned down several abilities (*cough* Sisters' healing *cough*), just wondering if that's enough to make cores less important than elites and champions ...

Mm hmm. Not a lot of sense does it make but I rather like it.
