I agree with Aosaw & tabachanker's first paragraph.
anyway one can easily see that big Moonlith post was a rant & all credibility was lost when the stupid act was mentioned.
However, threads like this with the subject title usually are not very useful at all (glad there is only one thread like this in HC). Far better to discuss things which need improving [I said my piece in Improvements thread], instead of "I now hate this game blah blah" which may start off with valid points, but also degenerates into including many small nitpicking points (like cjlee's rant on CH).
On the first post, I don't think a good RMG is possible at first release when time is short & not everything can be done. AND really, starting a 'potential' thread when one hasn't gathered the information & then starting another 'I hate' thread is a bit embarassing/attention-seeking?
For those that may exaggerate or not read more, the 4 different rare resources apparently were an issue with some due to random/luck of getting right rare vs wrong rare, especially competitive multiplayer & maps. But no it wasn't a huge issue & I personally think there are ways to have more than 1 rare resource in the game.

I agree.
Thread like this is completely useless.
All those that rant and whine here are just those that can't accept change easily, like someone said above, better stick to HoMM 1-3 forever, and never follow the next game of HoMM series.
If there are no change to HoMM 6, then it will be just previous HoMM with better graphic, seriously, why buy that kind of game, unless in the case of Starcraft to Starcraft 2, almost no different game, but the latter has better graphic, but the years gap between them is reasonable.

A spiked Ghoul that can rush AND have physical damage reduction AND gain additional movement against certain enemies over... an ability-less Zombie that only knows how to be a meatshield?
Any-friggin-time.
Whoopietofrickingdoo! A ton of random abilities that have no relevance to the actual creature whatsoever!
Sorry but that's not good creature design. From an objective viewpoint even. I could give a divine Unicorn the ability to infect enemies with a horrible demonic disease and with that make it a creature that fills a very important and amazing tactical role, but that doesn't mean it is a well-designed creature.
Quote: Similarly, it has the undesirable effect of undermining your credibility; yes, for the sole reason that you didn't pay for the game.
Sounds rather silly. But that's how people are unfortunately. From my perspective, I've lost my ability to care about this community ages ago so I don't honestly care about any consequences associated with it. I'd rather be blunt. But it's sad that people get -that- hung-up on it. If anything the better term would have been that I "tried a demo."
At any rate, however, advice noted.

I'm pretty certain I seperated the Homm-1-3 whining from the whining about the game's own flaws.

Nonsense. SC2 brought vastly improved gameplay, particularly in the pathfinding field. The keyword is "improvement". Whether the changes HoMM 6 brought are actual improvements is something that is up for debate. I'm not going to say it didn't bring innovative and interesting ideas, but I am sceptible if they are actual improvements over previous installments when it comes to gameplay and enjoyment.

I'll be blunt too. As has already been emphasised, piracy is most definitely not an allowable subject at HC and discussion of it constitutes a CoC breach, let alone endorsing and admitting to it. If you don't edit that content out of your previous posts within the day, Moonlith, I'm doing it for you.
As a general point I want to appeal for members to try and collectively ease up on the vituperative tone which I feel is starting to escalate a bit in this subforum. Negativity, disagreement and despair regarding H6 is entirely fine, but discuss with some respect; tear the game apart in this instance, not each other. I see posters all this week tacitly and otherwise bandying around pejorative terms at one another such as "rants", "whining", "fanboy", "troll", "idiot" etc, and it must be addressed.

I considered it. The sole reason I didn't was because I felt it might pull responses from others out of context. But noted and I will edit it.

Oi. I like to think I did a fair job at not responding to pointless statements this time around.

Exit poll: Anyone feel I should become a gamereviewer? Constructive critisism welcome. Just curious, really.
Posts like yours are why I still hang around this community from time to time. I like honesty, critical thinking, and constructive opinions. I don't think you'd get far as a professional reviewer. You'd be expected to salivate over average or poor games. I'd be reading your website if you had one. On the other hand, TotalBiscuit (The cynical brit) is critical AND popular.
As for references to software piracy, I missed them. But it will end, much like the Prohibition has ended.
