why do you take it so personally, forf?
it's really admirable of you to be so compassionate, even toward someone who lied and emotionnally abused other people, but he hasn't been sentenced to death, you know?
I'm not convinced that someone who willingly lied that way would be hurt by what we say. you get hurt by people you care about, and as far as I know, you don't lie that way to people you care about.
maybe that sounds too violent for you, but sometimes a good "kick in the butt" is a good way to make you understand you did bad and should fix yourself. there's nothing malicious.

 Yep I understand it's not much fun to read and I have exams to and better things to do, but yep, you were my hero once upon a time. Then you turned out to have a wife a child and be a porn actor, so not strange I turned away from you and your montenegrin religious ways.

Well I try not to, though having been through something similar twice (both times on earlier forums, one time I deserved it, the other I don't think I did) I guess I might accidently look like I take it personally, sorry about that.
I do question such drastic decisions though, I think terminating duke's abilities to participate here is too much.

Thank you and I haven't concluded he lied, so maybe it's not that admirable after all.
Anyway, this whole community just seemed rather important to him, I mean being this close to.. the end of the line.. and then still wanting to stick around. That's both tragic and beautiful, in some way, I think.

Wtf, huh, okay or seriously, I don't know what to start with. Regarding what I thought about the "suspiciousness" in the Mentat/Duke story, I was greatly surprised when I saw this thread. The actions taken and the work done by the mods are impressive. One would have thought that hiding behind cancer would make you "untouchable", but not against this mod squad.
This entire story is kinda hard to digest since it doesn't happen every day.
The "funny" thing is that, some time after Duke had revealed his cancer diagnosis I imagined if he just pretended the whole thing. However it wasn't a serious theory from my side, I believed in his story the whole time as I didn't see the point in not trusting it.(And once Mentat entered the scene I was too absent to give a ****)
Back to the "funny" thing, the theory that he pretended the whole thing got me thinking:
What's best, that our beloved friend Duke is going to leave us because of some bloody cancer, or that Duke is a douce that just thinks he can toys with us, for fun or for attention.
My conclusion was that he'd be better of as a douce, so yay for that. :/

I suppose that posting this thread in the Tribunal wasn't such a great idea. Had I posted it in the OSM, I'd have nuked about half the posts in the last few pages.
Seriously, I hate to be a killjoy but I can't help but think some of the things posted in this thread aren't very dignified. I'm sure it's obvious what kind of stuff I'm referring to. No matter how badly a person has injured me, I don't feel it gives me license to dance on his grave.
Well, that's all I'll say about it.

Well Corribus, you knew there may be some heat.
Some believed the story, some cared about him that much & some went out of their way to make him feel comfy.
That was heartbreaking for some.
Of course some wont take it as lightly as others.
I for one have alot of words to say to him, but that wont be said here.

Since when was the turban tribunal a place to raise ones post count?
I don't really know duke, I don't really know mentat (alter ego, friend, whatever) and to be honest, I care more about whats for dinner tonight than this whole situation.
Mods, do you want to know what id do? Lock this thread and let the whole thing die. Seriously, I can't believe this thread got so big. Do you know where you are people? This is the tribunal, not your rotting wasteland where you can rack up 1000 posts in 6months. A bit of discussion is fine but once the situation was explained the thread should have been locked. This would have prevented all the trash talk and spam.

Plus I think there is more of the issues in this case then just banning a member.
It was the actual member, the reasons why it happened.
People who actually cared about him.
Like ya said Dragon, you dont know him or know the issues.

We have made a decision in the Squad, we brought it to you so you are informed about that. We didn't put it here to let you check if our decision was right or not.
Give your opinion about the case itself if you like, but no more discussions with the mods refering to the decision made.

That's not exactly my point. I merely pointed out I don't find the evidence sufficient for such a decision.
My opinion is that given the circumstances, Duke and Mentat should not have had their accounts removed. Also I think it's a shame that Duke don't get to share his point of view, should he have wanted to.

Well duke did leave us his name, a few hundred pictures of perty insects (a few with him in it) a hand drawn chaos marine, and some scetches of nude women. All in all taking into account recent events, the guy isn't all that bad.
