I would say the defining characteristic of a beholder is being a single floating eye, the tentacles are optional. That thing I would not call a beholder.

I don't think the black dragon will make it to the unit roster. None of the other races have dragon champions so I don't expect one from Dungeon either. I see no reason to believe that the other dungeon unit will have crossbows. I think that a caster is more likely, especially since none of the monsters are casters.

Haven - never had a dragon
Inferno - never had a dragon
Necropolis - had a bone dragon, but they may not have the ability to make those at this point in time
Sanctuary - DOES have a dragon
Stronghold - never had a dragon
So of the two factions in the game that even would have a dragon, one did. I see no reason dungeon wouldn't have dragon as their ultimate.

Well the faceless wear masks (somewhat like my avatar, or see DaveJames avatar), so they could have different style masks. But the faceless are the equivalent of angels, which are not heroes, so I don't think they will be heroes either.

According to the bible God made us in his image, nothing prevents the Dragon Gods from doing the same with their children  After all nobody said that dragons cannot exist in heroes anymore, just that they wouldn't be in the original H6. The only units we won't be seeing again are satyrs, leprechauns, halflings and the like.

Why not satyrs? They would fit Sylvan pretty well... if they were in H5 instead of a certain unit from tier 2, the whole faction would be much more... manlier (still preserving unicorns in the line-up)

Satyrs VS Blade Dancers
Satyrs are far better option!
and they will fill into wood thematic that Sylvan are!

the Faceless?
Maybe those faceless units work like the Val'kyr from World of Warcraft. The major Val'kyr are able to create minor, weaker ones to do the dirty job for them, but if the major val'kyr is killed, all the minor ones under her control die too.

The new website says that Dungeon support comes from crossbow units. Also, the Faceless (and maybe the Shadow Lurkers too) look like casters.

Necropolis could make Bone Dragons. They did so in the Danse Macabre DLC. It was a Boss, which leads me to believe that any Dragon in Heroes VI will be a Boss rather than a Champion.
Also, Kirin is not a Dragon

My personal tip...
For Christmas we will get the Black Dragon artwork. And I hope one of his names will be "Night Dragon" Its a personal thing :-P...

Nvm.
It's interesting because the assassin clothes are reddish and his armor looks kinda "orcish", which totally makes sense since Tuidhana sent them to train with the goblins. Intentional or not, it's a nice detail.

So my guess is:
core - assassins, minotaur and blood fury (stalker)
elite - the new beholder/evil eye creature, manticore, ???
champion - faceless
??? might be hydra since the sorceress unit is out ( they said only 2 dark elves units)
