Yeah, I mean, wait until you see the creature and hero reputation abilities...
Currently my prediction is that there won't be any duels against Dungeon Heroes, except with a Dungeon army, because it might be a tad frustrating against them - you'll have no targets, you'll lose your buffs, you'll lose control over your units, you'll be poisoned (even if you're undead), you'll be paralyzed, the enemy will retaliate before you even hit them, their ranged attackers will hit a ton of your units and your magic units will do squat, and all that just from the creatures, discounting the hero - in short, you will gape in awe, how you are dissected.
I suppose the Dungeon campaign will be somewhat spectacular, you know, always playing against impossible odds and still being victorious, but I cannot imagine that it will be fun to be on the receiving end. Not unfittingly, fighting Dungeon will be a real, frigging virtual nightmare.
Thankfully, there is a balancing round due - I have to say that I'm quite curious whether this Dungeon will be balancable or not.

the mechanic not ability refers to creatures attacking/retaliating at the same time unless that spell/ability is active
Otherwise what JJ said makes no sense since as u stated counterstrike III available for all factions

People, we don't no sh** about Dungeon's units abilities/stats, and you are already planning strategies with them . I don't know who exactly works now on the game, but maybe, just maybe, they will try to balance things from the beginning. Black Dragons were always hard to deal with (full magic resistance, 400 HP in Heroes IV, high attack and defense). Those were simply powerhouses, and it's a kind of tradition already, so is their high cost. Like someone already said they will probably get a hero spell resistance or immunity (which is a double-edged sword, because no buffs, and one time reinforcements aren't always enough, and need a high level hero). The whole normal/magic attack makes things complicated (I really dislike this feature), but you can always think of something why a hero can't cast spells and a unit can magic attack them (mental blockade of a hero's mind, precognition which is impossibru with many units at once etc). There was no magic damage in Heroes III yet it didn't stop, for example, Gogs from attacking Black Dragons with fireballs. And, as I said earlier, looking on the description, maybe Blackies will get a "Terror" ability...

Just a little heads up there Blob. If JJ or Elvin say things about abilities and such things. You may take them to be true. Both of them are insiders and have knowledge we do not posses. Which they will likely share if they will not get into trouble by sharing it.
So for instance if JJ or Elvin say that Black Dragons cannot be hit by hero spells, then that is the case up untill the next patch is integrated into the game. And they will likely have beforehand info of the patches and they may be able tell us if such things are planned to be changed.

As far as I know Counterstrike III works only for the first couple of turns or was that changed in a patch?
In any case there will be a unit in Dungeon that has the passive ability to retaliate BEFORE the attack (not simultaneously and for the whole combat), which means that counterstrike II will make it VERY hard to deal with in melee.
It is a fine ability for the creature in question, but it's also a very awkward ability for any opponent.
Even though I suppose that there will be more pressing problems when facing Dungeon.

As long as you conviced them to release a balance patch or two with your aid, that shouldn't be a big problem...

as for that ability on a unit, lets say it will be interesting...

I'm afraid that I'm not allowed to disclose any specifics - technically, I'm on thin ice already by making this kind of general and not creature-specific remarks.
Again, technically spoken, if you quote a unit description here, I might be able to take a "good guess", how this will "probably" translate into creature abilities.

That's true, but with Inferno the control-losing is fire-based (based on fervor or passion), and it doesn't have to end all that bad.
Dungeon however, is DARK-based ...

Poison a skeleton, really? If it were acid I can understand but poison?
Mass frozen in terror like ability in blood tree magic hero I presume. (regarding losing control over your units).
