An interview with Erwan from this site when asked if he prefers Cyclops or Behemoth:

This hints a return of the Behemoth. I would venture to guess that it is the new neutral Champion.

Sorry, but you are wrong:
1. Champions were only present in Clash of Heroes. Other HoMM games have lvl 4/6/7+ units, not Core, Elite, Champion.
2. Rakshasa is Champion, same as Titan, in Clash of Heroes.

I think your overanalysing his words. I even belive he got some nice words from his authorities not to talk about unknown things after he got a bit lose in the last weaks:-P.

Oh, I don't know if Elvin was thinking about actual champion or lvl 7 unit (if yes, then you used wrong term Elvin  ) but I also don't think that Eugene Xaar posted that artwork only because of his speculations.
We saw already 3D concept arts of Rakshasa, so Ubisoft probably had this model from begining, just didn't placed in-game from various reasons.
Well, we will see soon enough what new is in 50 Shades of Purple.

I don't mind Rakshasas, because those are one of my favorite units (and probably one of the best "original" Ubi/Ashan ideas for a unit). They probably have it's model somewhere so it would be easier for devs to implement them, but... I still have a bit of hope that there will be a second expansion with Academy for instance, and making R a neutral would probably mean no Academy (on the other hand, Elementals were neutrals, yet they were "absorbed" by Conflux's line-up back in H3).

This. The fact that the rakshasa was the "Four-armed-Naga" replacement should be taken in consideration (since said "four-armed-naga" is in H6 as a elite too)

Yes.
I'm guessing that we sill get the Hydra as the champion and a dwarf or an academy unit as the core. Maybe a few sylvan units (if the unit limit would handle that).

Well, CoH was the only game (apart from HVI) where we had champions (as a tier). And Rakshasa was one in that game...

Yeah, I'm still vibing on Hydra too...it's the only ex-dungeon unit that's been a classic champion before...
That Rakshasa is to mislead us. They are part of Academy (in the world of Ashan at least) and will support the Titans throughout!
For the new core neutral we can't take guesses at this cos they say it's a new creature to the series...
My opinion, could be wrong.
