I guess I've to reevaluate which level 5 spells is the worst then, certainly not Summon Water Elemental.

It still is the worst. It happens that here it is used in a creative way, but such tactic can be used in only one battle before going tedious. Other than that, summon elementals is high rated in AI codes but human players rarely use it.

Dont forget there is a limit of summoned elementals. I once wanted to create such a battle, but failed due to this.


Even two players gonna have problems filling the outside walls...

Not really limit for summon, just the 20 stacks limit for every battle side.

Does that 20 stack limit include commanders, henchmen, clones and such? If so, when you play with hm and commander its 9 + 9 = 18 to begin with anyway. Each hero can summon only one creature?

For every side (stacks 0-20 attacker, 21-41 defender). Including everything, clones and summons as well.

They are not talking about adventure map problem,they are talking about battle problem,where the true value of a spell is revealed.

To be frank, I have no clue how Mira says she did the battle with hypnotize only, we have no enough spell point for that. And the imps stealing mana is pure utopia, I tried that battle 20 times and they stole exactly 4 mana points every time, means one extra magic arrow. I don't want to accuse anybody without proof, but I am circumspect about this being possible.

ok, after the victory against Sir Lock, I am left only with Ein Freund hero and 2 master genies. I guess I should give my elixir of life to the quest guard and take the 5 ore and +1 spell power artifact and then head for the sanctuary. this is day 2. then, in day 3, I guess I should attack the dungeon guarded by 1 behemoth and defeat it with 2 master genies. I tried to split the genies and cast magic on one another and let the behemoth attack the catapult, and then attack it in turns. However, i was unable to defeat it. what magic would the master genies need to slay the behemoth?
anyone, help?

I have the sea hat, but where can I summon a boat? I guess it should be around the dungeon castle, but I cannot find a place.
How can Ein Freund reach level 3 of experience? I beat the silver pegasi, the defenders of the 2 pandora boxes, but I am still at level 2. Is there a way I can reach the pandora box guarded by peasants behind the brown border?
I upgraded the giant to titan and I have 4 master genies (lost 1 in the battle with pegasi). Should I try to beat Doppelbert of Pferd or the faerie dragon in order to reach level 3? All these battles seem impossible to win.

Best combat spells on expert lvl:

lvl 1: mass Curse (sadly doesnt work vs all monsters but very strong imo, especially vs dungeon) most people level air and earth magic but not water, so they can't cancel it with mass bless or mass dispell often.
lvl 2: Blind (no retaliation shines)
lvl 3: mass forgetfullness i think....
lvl 4: mass Prayer. I think it is really underused, is a very good spell imo
lvl 5: Sacrifice

Worst:
lvl 1: Stoneskin (it isn't that bad, but the same school offers shield which is way better imo)
Lvl 2: Protection of water, since there is no damage water spell except ice bolt....
lvl 3: Fireball, deals too low damage for its mana cost
lvl 4: Fire shield, would actualy be good if mass.....
lvl 5: magic mirror ofc (however the only 5th lvl spell casted by genies sometimes, i;'m happy when that happens!)

From a multiplayer perspective, I don't play custom mapes.

Best

1 Slow, Haste

depending on your town, haste is better for Fortress then Slow. ALso Curse is great vs Fortress and Bless for them. Dispell and Cure can be great to counter mass spells. So it depends but generaly haste and slow are the best, giving the edge to slow. Sumon boats can be great for maps with lots water.

2 Blind by far.

Number 2 is Lightning bolt. I agree that blind could be a level 4 spell.

3 Force Field

reading this thread, when I think about it you can nuliffy enemy creatures with this spell. Animated dead is great for necro to creep without losses and in big fights too. Forgetfulnes vs good shoters.Teleport is great for your Hydras to position and hit multiple creatures, also good to get a stron stacks behind the enmy walls during a siege. After those, Landmines are also not to shabby.

4 Town portal


Self explanatory (spelling') why, could be a level 5 spell imo.

Berzerk is brutal, We used to ban it (I paly with my brother)but now we got minimal rules, almost none. It can be countered with disspel and mass cure. Also if you happen to get the artefact against it. And tactics + haste you can just cross the battlefield which will cause bersek to likely hit enemy creatures. Expert fire magic is rather rare,people go for win and earth mostly. And you have to get the spell in your guild, Inferno gets it mostly and they deserve it beinga  bit weaker as town imo (might be wrong).

Armagedon when you got imune creatures, not to hit and run but at the end of the battle or begining or whenever if your black dragons don't take damage from it it can pay off well.

Counterstrike - as mass it's pretty strong.

Chain lightning - as begining spell and on medium maps and earleir battles it's strong with that Tower hero that starts with it.

Water walk, on certain maps the best spell, just played a map that had towns close just seperated two turns by whater with this spell.

Clone - if you got the fastes unit in the battle you can basicaly hit your enemy 3 times with it, waiting your turn and casting clone at the end, and at the begining of the next turn you hit again, that's 4 times, of course you need to take await the retaliation first.


5 Dimension Door.

#2 is fly. 3# Implosion.

doesn't it make earth magic even better if it has both mass stoneskin, Shiled and slow ? You can be a Might hero and not have wisdom and with expert earth ahve 3 great mass spells.
