We don't make "heroes 2 sprites". Our sprites are packed exactly as Heroes 3 ones because the platform of the project is still Heroes 3. The original graphics were extracted using GrayFace's programs for Heroes 2 resource files and re-packed for Heroes 3 using standard WoG/Era 2 instruments. Luckily, the grid size and approximate creature box size are the same in both Heroes 2 and Heroes 3, which allowed us to transfer graphics from one game to another with a considerable success.
Making true Heroes 2 sprites (workable in Heroes 2) is a much harder task, but still doable. You should check Project Ironfist, the one and only massive modification of Heroes 2.

Hi there,
First of all congratulations for your mod!
I need help because I've been trying to play but, for some reason, every game I play against a Warlock castle one of their heroes has a "throng" of red dragons when others have 0 tier 7 creatures, making it all but unplayable for me! I'd like to know if this is a bug or perhaps an option I have to change.

That bug comes from Mister Kalu's developments where he replaced H3 Rogues with Red Dragons. Players who had a WoG option for Rogues to accumulate with time always experienced this kind of problems.
I must warn you, however, that open 2013 beta is strongly outdated and does not satisfy the current state of the project. The new version, presumably called v0.8 beta, is going to be released in 2015.
To make my words solid, here is the first screenshot from the upcoming version. Enjoy everyone - it costed us a real lot.

Ok thanks for the reply! Is there anything I can do to remove the red dragons/rogues? Are cheats possible to make things even?

As a quick update, we managed to implement beautiful multi-colored Heroes 2 flags instead of monochrome H3 ones. Just look at the image above and you'll get why I'm still awake at 5 a.m.
Real major breakthrough comparable to dynamic castle looks and animated oceans presented earlier.

If I understand correctly, the only reason this mod won't have cyborgs is because lore ?

Cyborg is my sole project and it is planned for Project Ironfist on the first place because I don't support transfering concepts from one project to another. There are also a selection of other reasons for Cyborg to not appear in H3SW at least for now:
- H3SW already has 9 castles in development. There is no free-distributed recipe for adding a 10th castle in Era.
- Cyborg is an arguable concept because many Heroes 2 players cannot stand science fiction and never played Might&Magic RPG series.
- H3SW has its own lore in plans for new campaigns based on Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven storyline. Classic Forge is a continuation of MMVII storyline, and its Heroes 2 variation is no more than a tribute to Might and Magic III-V.

I think its not nice of you to consider the feelings of these h2 fans.
However on a personal notice d like to encurage you to simple make a poll or alike where folks get to vote in if the majority trully finds that inappropiate.
Being a fan of both the strategy games and both the old and new genereation rpgs and played them exhaustivly I personally think that 10th faction whould make PERFECT sense seeing as one could always relate alot of the strategy stuff in rpgs and vice versa.

Yes. Currently Project Ironfist is struggling with the addition of 7th faction. H3SW has other tasks to work out and adding 10th castle is of very low priority.
As another teaser, here is the model "screenshot" with a bunch of new graphics awaiting you in the upcoming release. Of course it's not a screenshot from the game. Note that we achieved a programming feature allowing to separate faction icons from castle icons because we have it in another way than it was in H3.

We are pleased to announce that we are moving our official forums to Forums of Enroth. In doing so, we are joining with their existing community as well as with “Heroes II: Project Ironfist” to create one central hub for Heroes 2 modding.
We are excited to see what this new community can do (and hope that sharing the work of running the forums will leave more time for work on the game itself).
This info source should also gather all HoMM2 activists over the world, so we would be happy to see everyone concerned there. We are stronger together, especially in these times troublesome for the old school HoMM fans.
The heroes3mod.webs.com website still keeps its functionality as a newsfeed blog. Taking into account the recent problems with registration of new users there and various problems with the site engine, we suppose that moving the forums to Forums of Enroth community was the best decision.
Stay tuned.

We proudly announce the first public version of the Dervish faction design document.
There you can find a lot of unique content previously unpresented in English language-oriented resources, including concept art and background lore behind the new desert castle everyone loved.
You can check it out on our new official forums!
Please note that some aspects are still in development (as well as my grammar mistakes are still present), but this design document should serve as a nice basis for what we do.
