I remember you saying 2 things:
1)first some creatures will be only level 1,because some people don't like recoloring creatures.
2)You will have some of a wog system where people(or you) can edit minor stuff.(I ain't sure about this one)
Anyway, my suggestion is that in this case instead of choosing one or the other simply add both. Give people the option to either choose to have a single creature or two. I can't imagine this would take a lot of time...
this way everyone is happy. This of course only applies of the graphics already done, so at the end of the day you don't leave anything out. What do you think?
You can apply the same thing too other stuff, the battle system for example, you could give people the whole H2 experience. That would be a little harder but I don't think it's impossible with some creativity.

Heroes 2 upgrade system is more progressive and dynamic than the one in Heroes 3. You can have 1, 2 or 3 upgrades. Some Heroes 2 concepts can barely be upgraded because of their peculiar design.
We can add some new upgrades later, but obligatory upgrade of all creature pantheon is not the right way.

More information on the Era portable official minimod system will follow later. Currently we focus on the classical aspects of the game.

We are not making another WoG. We are a project with its own concept and agenda. You have no idea what would happen if you simply make other magic/artifact/upgrade/secondary skill/whatever system without adjusting all other gameplay aspects respectively - everything is closely connected. The whole game will be turned upside down. The default settings will be default - if you want to speak about gameplay customization, please wait for the Era Portable minimod concept mentioned above.
Quote: this way everyone is happy
This way you don't have a game, but you have a constructor. We are not making a constructor - we keep in mind the majority's gameplay preferences, but in fact if you try to satisfy everyone, you will satisfy no one.
There is one more wise thing to consider - if you can change stuff, it doesn't yet mean you must.

Everything looks outstanding and graphic style fits perfectly. I'm hyped about this mod, which does a mix of my two favourite Heroes of Might&Magic (2 and 3) games.

My opinion exactly. Heroes of Might and Magic II had many balance issues, and while all factions were unequal in strength, they each had specific scenarios, moments or circumstances where they would shine, and as much as I would like to have mandatory unit upgrades all across the board, I fear that would only cause some already strong faction to become even stronger and some situational factions to become even more situational.

One more tasty feature of the upcoming v0.8 beta of H3SW is the conversions of official H1, H2 and H3 maps. They will allow many players to feel nostalgic and look over old battles from another point of view. Now the maps are sorted out in a much more convenient and presentative way.
The future releases of the project are also going to feature entirely new maps with maximum variety of objects alongside with the further contributions to the conversion of classic maps.
Full map list for v0.8 beta can be watched here.

We will have our own stats for all creatures. It's kind of hard to predict what will be - the testing must show.
But I must note that Heroes factions are usually not designed to dominate on every stage of gameplay, because there cannot be only winners and no losers. You are to prevent your enemy from coming to power.

As you all may already know, Heroes of Might and Magic 3: The Succession Wars claims itself a new game which combines the features of HoMM2 and HoMM3 alternately. It is clearly visible on the following picture as well.
The new artifact system which somehow supports the flexibility of H2 and is arranged as a somewhat new version of H3 inventory doll, is also a part of the hybrid approach. Since HoMM2 had completely different artifacts than its more successful sequel, it can be very interesting and unusual to check the new gameplay in action.
