I just found out all sorts of colors can be given to map names with this method:
{~Color Name}Map Name{~}
My suggestion for H2 maps is cyan, it really fits the game well:

Yes been fixed, many specialties (like these) were by Kalu and I only recently went back to them. chalk.erm is in eraplugins so you can type it back in as an easy fix...

I tried that by the past and it ends in unfriendly interface. When you select a regular map in game menu, its name goes gold, but if there is different color coded, nothing changes, thus you can't say for sure which map you selected.
Probably a better idea would be to add some extension as *H2 to map name.

When selected white turns yellow, yellow turns orange, red and cyan don't change as you say but that's hardly a problem. On the right, we have the name of the selected map in huge fonts, also on left column the player info and map size info still turn from white to yellow so you percept what you select. For example in the screenshot above, Tester (in red) is selected, you can tell by looking at left column. The advantage of color changing is you percept different types of maps much faster and double-clicking the list groups them at the end of the list, so you reach them as a group much faster.
Anyway, it's the mod makers that will decide but I'd say color changing is much more practical and looks much better.

that was the first thing that came to my mind too, but then i switched to color change so you wont have to scroll to H alphabetically. i have hundreds of maps like most people who still play heroes and double clicking map list and seeing all h2 maps in a second seemed much easier.

Fliers cannot fly on the first turn. Why not set the speed in !?FU77007 (afair, stack receives turn)?
Crossbowmen and rangers have the same 150 gold price. Rangers 2-3 times stronger.

probably this is my last comment of heroes 2 mod and other wog-era games, so please read it.
-First of all congratulations to kegolo and kivo because with their job did playable the game.
- i can not continue with the mod because i don't have time, the failed attempt to recreate armaggeddon, earthquake and elemental storm( my favorite spells) and and we could not agree on certain things with kivo on many aspects of the game f.e( battlefield fly monster, music, interface, monsters statistic, location of inner buildings and dwellings)
- i had read a lot of critics of the heroes specialties, my original idea was:
a) all the factions has at least a hero with:
a1) Beast master: 6 of 7 monster
a2) creator of resources ( gem, mercury, others)
a3) Gold
a4) cover of darkness generator (generally the most evil face)
a5) over one of the 2 initial skill, one level more, but with another handicap or something
a6) spell or lack of spell
a7) battle advantage( always morale or always luck)
a8) more primary skill versus another disadvantage.
a9) random for example, always full mana in adventure map
Im not very good with the scripts
the idea is to have a hero really particular and obviously all the heroes start the game with the first monster and second, no third and no two same monster or 3..
the monsters: is probably the most difficult job do a full animate sprite, for it, many monster had errors or they aren't beautiful
the ghost and genie: impossible to make original qualities in a normal recruitable monsters, so they are erradicated. if you can do a similar thing to the h2 game use a fan monster like efreet ( neutral for example) or banshee .
ghost in a gipsy: gipsy is basic the same a inexistent neutral faction of heroes 2, with 2 monsters more.
If you can eliminate the grail and put a random last artifact in their place. please do it. and if you lost the battle, obviously put the same message and destroy the weapon or golden goose
my plan contained a 3 wanderer monster for every castle, non recruitable in a town but with the same faction: Necmancer: death knight or skeletal chariot , bone wing golem and cursed sword or undertaker.

i can do more sprites, but when i posted the last 3 faces, nobody post it.. so i think nobody have really interest on the work
Kegolo, i don't know if you played h2, but many thanks to do all the possible for keep alive the mod

I wouldn't really say that we could not agree on all of those things. I was trying to go with the public view, rather than only our own, because that's who for the mod is being made. I understand that you wanted most things to be your way, but after all the mod is being made for the players mainly and so we have to take their opinions. It's a shame that you had to leave as a lot has been changed, even though some of the changes you don't really like.
Many people were complaining that you could just play H2, that's why when me and Kegolo took over we started listening to others suggestions.
The flying creatures across the whole battlefield option is in, music has not been changed at all. I know that you really wanted to have all creature statistics just like in H2, but just like for hero abilities people were complaining that the castles are totally out of balance... I had no say in location of inner buildings and dwellings, apart from the Fortress which was 80% my job. I just want to make things clear, but I'm not sure what you are trying to say. Anyway, a big thank you from me and Kegolo for starting the idea of the mod and putting so much work into the project!

I understand Kalu and I sympathize with. I had same idea 2 years ago, to recreate another game in wog, and after 1 years of hard work I realized there is almost nothing left from Heroes in, thus no one will play it.
I knew I couldn't cope with releasing such hard work then being so frustrated by the fact that no one cares, thus I abandoned the project and was heart breaking.
I still think that if your goal is to create another game (H2 in this case) using wog, your project is dead from start. People play wog because/if it adds depth to original Heroes. Removing the mechanics we love so much is suicidal, no matter what you add inside. Simple translation: go and play H2 if you want 100% H2, don't mutilate H3.
IMHO Kegolo and Kivo made wiser and more pragmatic choices than kalu. But I understand his distress.

I totally agree with this. We knew that this would be the case therefore we kept the H3 mechanics and put some of the H2 options as a choice. This made the players who thought that you could just play H2 more interested in the mod, as H3 mechanics will always win. This mod is not just about the graphics and keeping is as much as H2. We add new content and improve whatever is needed to improve. Its like making the old series of HoMM back alive.

It's true that your original vision about this mod was quite different from what is heading now, but at least it's of the taste of the fans, which is very important.

This mod is just awesome.
Please keep working on it. I have enjoyed it a lot. Please check out the shipyards. I guess that you can't change the core of the game and maybe you can't add shipyards to all cities, but some of them had shipyards and are not working. At least, not in my game trying to build a shipyard in the knight castle, I have been playing Broken Alliance (my favourite map because it was the first map I played when I discovered HoMM in its demo, and it is a very nice game, a perfect map, IMHO).

Thanks for the comment. At the moment me and Kegolo are quite busy, but once we get back on track we will think through the ideas posted around the forums. Though we need to finish what we planned to get done at first. It's a shame when both us are busy and have no time to spend on the mod for a couple of days, there is no one who can be doing something from time to time. We are more than happy to have more people working with us, as that would speed up the patching process. We are still a fair distance away, therefore it would be really good to have more people working on the mod.

I would like to inform anyone interested, that the work on the Succession Wars Mod has been currently stopped. The main reason is that me and Kegolo do not have a lot of free time to spend working on it. I certainly cannot continue for the time being, apart from the holidays, unless I go abroad.
Nevertheless, we simply do not want the mod to wash away as there are many people who are waiting for the patches to come, bugs to be fixed and so on. There is still a lot of things which we want to get done, but it's simply too time-consuming to do it all by ourselves, especially when there is only two of us. Therefore we are looking for more people who would like to help out, as even the smallest things done can speed up the process. The bigger the team, the better. We are looking for anyone, really, this can be:
- Someone who can create Pixel Art ( Map Objects, Interfaces, Creature Battle Animations, Hero Portraits, Icons - small or large, etc. )
- Experienced Programmers - Working with scripts, fixing bugs, fixing creature and hero specialties...
- Map Makers - Making maps from scratch, transferring from HoMM2, loading from HoMM3 and fixing the placement of new graphics
- Map Testers - Self explanatory
- General Testers - Finding bugs, commenting on balance
I would also need help in putting new map objects in such as terrain which I have done the graphics for. This shows how rubbish I am in the programming side...

Once again I'm back working on the project. Hopefully I won't have to cancel off again... Just a screenshot to show you what changes you might expect in the interface area.
New Ballista, siege battleground and walls are currently work in progress, being made by Linn. A screenshot for those will be posted when more work will be done.
