This was my understanding too. While I command the excellent work the molders have done!!! (please finish this ), I cannot but whish for a mod that "just" uses H2 like graphics for H3 Sod. No stat moddifications, only graphics!!!

The way I see it is like this: 2 completely separate mods!

#1 - A mod that lets H3 work 100% like SoD but with H2-like graphics (interface, towns, creatures, map objects).

#2- On top of this mod another one that modifies the stats and mechanics to H2 or whatever...

For sure #1 will have a much, much larger audience. And players who like #2 will not feel any difference.

.... All this should be possible with a reasonable amount of effort with VCMI!

I am in no way related to the VCMI team but if they say it is possible and feasible I can offer time to port mod #1. But I will need help from their part at least to start things up.

VCMI team don't have resources to do this.
I think modders can start by converting SW towns to VCMI mods.
SO it's will be easier to have 2 sets of stats for game.

More progress, not just seen in the image below but some other stuff, such as map objects; trees, rocks on water, etc. Thanks to Linn for helping out with the castle walls! Knight walls are also now completed with the battleground left to do, the rest is to be done.

Amazing job guys ,this is so great I just downloaded this to see how it looks.Damn i wish i knew something like that exits.First thing I checked was the sorceress's town Im glad we actually made different towns,it would suck a bit If I were making the same thing Nice siege walls,good scaling job.Im actually doing similiar walls as well right now but i guess it will look a bit different also The entrance looks too tight to me but still its really nice

how you are managed to get HMM1 creatures graphics?
Is there some tool to extract HMM1 graphics to BMPs?

I still would like an answer to my "Do you also plan alongside a 100% H3 mechanics and factions but with H2 graphics question?".

Not much has been done since the last screenshot. I just do some graphics from time to time... It's a shame that Kegolo left, as he has helped me so much with the programming. The mod as always is worked on, then stopped, then worked on, then stopped, etc...

The guy who helped me with the walls, is not contacting me, so I guess he is busy too.

For the other question: The mod will be a mixture of different mechanics, mainly h3, then of course with only h2 graphics.

Even if programming is low ATM, if you continue to release graphics only, pretty sure someone would pick up on them. Graphics makers are the rarest kind around.

For example I am more interested in a version for VCMI. Once the graphics are made they could be "easily" integrated into a mod.

The only problem is ( which is a big one ), that having a creature put together from many different sprites is not unique... I would like to stay away from that... So like in Gipsy, the Kobold, Etin, etc... Its way better to have a unique creature.

AGG Extractor doesn't exact anything.
I found another tools pack for work with AGG, look for it later:

I can't seem to play the mod. I run the .exe but nothing happens...
It seemed i had disabled some othe mod I shouldn't have. Fixed now.

Seems I can't get anything good from it.
Graphics is extracted with weird colours, backgrounds of towns are in some strange BMPs don't open with editors. Creatures need to be constructed from parts.
I give up.
Maybe later will try to get towns screens by capturing (like Silaneo done in Abode).
Or have somebody already extracted graphics right and good from Hmm1?
