I actually converted all H2 map objects and terrain to H3, and then I realized when I was done that the Succession Wars mod people actually had done the same thing! Nearly a year's worth of work. I will redo all town screens--I've done Castle and Dungeon, with each taking 2 weeks.
Right now, I'm most concentrated on creating original creature animations and wish to get rid of most of the upgrades as I feel that many of them add little in the way of strategy. For me, part of the appeal of playing the old school Might and Magic games (especially Gates to Another World) was roaming out in world and running into a limitless number of enemy varieties, so eclipsing the creature limit either through VCMI or that one amethyst script would be a priority.
And for what it's worth, I'm pretty thorough with my "modding" hobby; I put together a custom Double Dragon PC game with another scripter that took about a year. I've been at this one for almost for nearly three and am open to communicating with anyone who has ideas or would like to assist.
Haha and that all being said, PM me if you want to know more--this threat is for Kivo and crew (unless we're just talking about sprites).

Here's a video that shows a handful of my creatures in action. I'm always editing frames and fixing things here and there. For example, I need to make the gnoll's walking animation more plodding, and the barbarian guy at the top is a bit wooden.
And obviously, there are things I didn't touch yet as described in the video's description (projectile anims, battle backgrounds, etc.). Right now for me though, it's all about creating colorful, larger than life creatures that hearken back to the classic MM days. Fun stuff!

Looks like DENDY videogames gone to H2:-)
So you are making creatures in style and size of HMM1, not HMM2.
I think they will feet SW if resized to 70%-60% of their size altrough.
Can you show townscreens of 2 towns you made?

Hey now, I'd say they're a few notches above NES sprites in terms of color =). Artwise, I'm trying to keep them in H2 style (less resolution), but you're right--they're large like in H1. While most would prefer smaller sprites, the project is more or less for personal use, and I love the huge size.
I will upload my dungeon townscreen hopefully in a few days as I'd like to touch it up. In process of moving into new house, so I don't have immediate access to my main PC with photoshop.

Are you playing it on the very old TSW mod? I like the animations, ( The Succubus attack and the Devil animations ), but large creatures like in HoMM1 are not for me.

Yeah, the large scaled creatures aren't for everyone, but I should note that they can easily be resized in automatically in paint with no loss of detail and/or blurring. When I make a creature, I draw him in the original H2 creature size in photoshop, and then paste all of the animations in MSPaint. Highlight them all, increase the image EXACTLY by 200 percent, and the individual pixels are simply doubled in size. To get them back to original size, just take all of larger anims, highlight them in MSPaint, reduce image size by exactly 50%, and presto, you have your original H2 sized image.

I can resize all your creatures to 50% scale
I use IrfanView (freeware program). It can convert sets of images at one time in batch mode. And it can resize frames of creatures without adding blue noir on borders. So it's ideal to resizing DEFs.

InfranView would work great for resizing a set up separate bitmaps simultaneously--guess I've never had to resize back down en masse =).

Nice sprites! I actually haven't used this site, and it looks like they have some unique games that have sprites that might be useful for H2.
It would be fun to do a Forge town and pull various mechanical creatures from the older MM games.

Looks like era 2.43 was installed on wog 3.58. You should install clean Heroes, then apply on it era 2.46, the latest.

Hiya. Would there be anyone interested in doing some testing? For now I'm talking balance between the factions, creature abilities/statistics etc... I am currently doing the graphics, but everything will go quicker if the testing will start sooner. Please comment if anyone is interested, or simply message/email me.
I will be sending the mod via Dropbox, emailing it to those who would like to help.
Thanks!

I would like to test also. Unfortunately, for week or so I'm busy with other modding stuff. But you can send my link also. I hope I will get opportunity to test it on random maps.
