Yes, It doesn't look good in the modding kit area.
On the other hand, game plays great (just my opinion) and I'm eagerly awaiting the full release.

Tomorrow there'll be another Devchat, this time focused on this last patch and the modding kit. We should see some answers there

Some clues from dev chat #3

Quote: Looking back we should have been more careful calling it "modding kit". In fact we should have called it "DEV TOOLs" or "DEV KIT".
So they've been lying and creating false hopes for months
Quote: The game is already in a later state. The time for fundamental structure changes is gone. As you said we are bug fixing, balancing the game and working on the performance. We are still flexible on little changes or features.
So the game will be like EA, no more...
Quote: Sorry, the team is currently working on finalizing the game. There will be no more content updates to the game until the release. Until early 2014 is not a long time left anymore.
I'm under the impression they are having troubles reaching their deadlines
Quote: There will be spells that feel useless
Then, where's the point on having them?

eee.. what is wrong with this? Tell me, how of ten did you use some spells in the old game, or even the heroes game. There is nothing wrong with adding "useless spells". They are there just for the sake of having an option, there might be better options later in the game, but they are there, and they contribute to the variety of the game.
Take Spirit arrow or Healing toche from MaM VI

About Devkit:
Their intention was create a real modkit (according DevChat#3), but they are under pressure since months. Remember who is developing the game, is Limbic, they only have created web based content. I always say this: the project of MMX is very big for this developer and now we know their limitations. Also I think they do the best, but the devkit is not good, because there are others minor projects with real map editor and posibility of real modding.
About useless spells:
I realize since I played first time, there are ton of useless spells. Limbic know this, but the consistency and spells of the game is a requirement imposed by Ubisoft.

I can understand that not all spells can be equally strong or useful, but making them useless? urg
I'd give them some kind of use or buff rather than leaving them useless...

A simple question: Would you pay 29,90€/$ for MMX? Is it worth?

I think there is a difference between a spell that feels useless and a spell that actually is useless. Depending on the way you like to play, the classes you're using, etc., there are spells you'll rarely, or never, use.
It's the case in any RPG, and it was the case in all the previous Might & Magic games. Different players will find different spells "useful" or "useless".

Define "more". The Early Access is roughly 10% of the game. Compared to the Early Access, the full game will have more playable classes, more towns, more quests, more dungeons, more enemies, more story, more items, and a couple of things you haven't experienced in the EA yet (for instance Relics).
But the gameplay bricks, so to speak, are in place and won't change. They will be improved, polished and tweaked, for sure, but we're now in final phase of development. It's not the time for feature and scope creeping.

Somewhat unrelated to the game (yet still related), but Ubishop was also updated, and it brings joyous news in regards to pre-order of this game as well.
Physical box is now available in extra batch of countries, including Croatia, so I will be purchasing a preorder on my next paychech
Updated list of countries should closely resemble http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubiemea/en_IE/html/pbPage.Landing-Shipping-International-IE/ThemeID.8605700
though it might still differ for some particular games.

Blog entry about the controversial Unity.
Quote: Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean that you can’t use Unity Free in order to create mods for Might & Magic X.
[...]
Even if mods can be created through Unity Free, it is not possible for players to export their content, neither to share it with other players nor to test it themselves.
So you can make content that no one can play. HOW SWEET

You can at least create all your environments and interactions in Unity Free, and then, once everything's in place, upgrade to the Unity Pro 30-days trial to test, debug, and finally package your mod for sharing.
It's far from ideal, and clearly not a solution for big mods, but it could work for smaller things (like dungeons).
Believe me when I say nobody's here is happy with how the dev kit thing turned out. It's not what we envisioned, but on this topic we are dependant on factors beyond Limbic's or Ubisoft's control.

Not trying to sound evil or anything. But doesn't this outcome somehow totally negate one of the games initially highlighted pros?

I think in the long term it's still agood thing that we released the dev kit. The benefit just won't be as immediate as it could have been otherwise.
But the modding aspect was always intended to be the proverbial "icing on the cake", the cake being the game itself. I mean, only maybe 3 or 5% of players create mods. It's unfortunate that due to our enthusiasm for this feature, it ended sounding bigger than it should have been. I've been guilty of this as much as anyone else.
That's a classic blunder in game development, really: overselling what should have been only a nice, bonus feature. I personnally nicknamed it "pulling a Molyneux"

Ugh, update on my status - finally managed to snag a box preorder, but apparently it can take several days between one submitting an order and actually being able to download the EA. Guess I'm just too used to other webshops granting that right instantly and automaticaly.
Hopefully I get the access before weekend ends... sigh .
But enough about Ubishop related issues. More worried about dev part of the game at this point - as the "early 2014" is getting closer.

A lot has been done since what can be seen in the Early Access version of the game. There's still a lot to do, but the Limbic team is working hard and it's getting there. For what it's worth, I have faith.

Ugh, my order has still not been processed, and ticket with ubi support was put "on hold" - opened it 5 days ago. Getting sad/mad a bit.
Anyhow, back to the game. I faintly remember reading somewhere that this game won't feature demons (not a bad thing when it comes to Ashan) - yet orcs have anti demon capabilities which confuses me. I might be remembering the no demons thing wrong though :S

That racial trait won't be present in the game when it's released. It was a left-over from an early iteration of the game design.
MMXL is 100% Demon-free.
