I forgot about the exchange with the banker, Cersei handled that smoothly  I still can't believe they killed Tywin, he was such an amazing character. He and Olenna aren't characters that can just be replaced.

At first I thought the same about the banker exchange, went really well and then Cercei did the typical uber noob move right at the end that was entirely unnecessary, when she says she will repay her debt in full in a week (or two i don't recall the specifics). If she learned anything from her father it's certainly not his prudence, being certain in anything is the height of folly (a show of arrogance rather than intelligence). I found that gesture wholly unnecessary and potentially undermining in how she is viewed (even if she does come through).

But that is exactly how Cercei has always been and how she has always ruled. Would be weird if she suddenly changed. She never bothers to manipulate people too much, when Lil Finger told her "knowledge is power" she responded "no, power is power".

In that instance what she said was perfectly true tho, power is power, knowledge has the potential to translate into power if used appropriately, but in of itself it's not. Power is indeed power.

I found that stupid too, it is bad to make easy promises in business. That was not entirely pointless though, she wanted to show the bankers that they have nothing to fear and that she had the power to perform such a ridiculous task at an even more ridiculous deadline. He did not take her words at face value but he is bound to be impressed when he gets the whole sum.

Loool, watching the behind the scenes is almost like the start of Tropic thunder lol, the crazy pyromancer in charge of the explosives is a doppleganger for the dude in TT.

just got caught up on the last 3 episodes. verrrry nice. i love when the dragons get to play. that barbecue was sweeeeeet.

Did I miss something or was it one those moments where the characters didnt do the obvious thing to do, just for the show to go on? They had the Night King out in the open, three dragons flying over him, Jon and his men knew he was "the life source" of all the puppet undead, yet instead of burning him to dust right there, they wasted the opportunity with destroying cannon fodder. He wasnt even armed with the big spear in the beginning, why not just end this for good?

Why didn't the white walkers order their army to cross the ice the minute it froze back over? How did a raven reach Dragonstone and Dany fly back up in a day? Why did Jon keep standing around like an idiot rather than get on the dragon? Why didn't the night king throw a spear at Drogon who was just sitting on the ground?
Also the whole Jon-Dany romance feels like fan pandering to me.

Man I really hate these "once you kill their leader they all die" plot devices. Why can't the army just be beaten regularly..
AS for Dany, she was there in the middle of the army, and had barely time to save the folk from being overrun. I don't really think even 3 Dragons was enough to defeat them all, especially when the first Dragon fell quite soon. They were outnumbered. Maybe it was a good risk to take in hindsight but that didn't bother me as it was a rescue mission. Maybe it would have been more epic if they tried going after him and that is when he would have killed one of the dragons. After that - retreat!
The good part - holy hell the flaming swords are awesome! So cool. Also the banter they had while walking north was great, I was chuckling quite a bit  Dangit I could see the Dragon turning a mile a way but that is also pretty neat.

No, the dragons had plenty of time to attack, they did sortie after sortie, killing dozens of undead, tney just didnt bother to kill the undead king, it was an epic fail.
@Gryphs:
Well, about the ice, they were afraid it would break again, it is the tactical thing to do, not taking that risk and wait for the enemy to make a move, since they are surrounded and they'll eventually have to.
About traveling instantly, this seem to be the case quite often these days, my explanation is, since the show is way past the character development phase, where we used to "travel with them" and learned more about them, the tempo got much faster. The journeys are no longer presented to us, they are skipped and sometimes weeks pass between scenes. We just dont sense it because we are used to a slower pace with GoT.

They didnt have to, it's the conventionally tactical thing to do to kill the leader. Besides, the others knew, they could have told her.

For the first half of the wight battle I was thinking how nice it would be for the priests to throw a fireball. Wish granted and more When the dragon fell, first thought was oh ****!, then, he gonna get rezzed I'd seen so many fans theorize about a trio of dragon riders while I expected at least one to fall ^^
I'd thought how handy it would be for the dragons to focus fire(pun intended) on the night king but that would be a long shot. Dany was too preoccupied to keep the fellowship of the wight from being overrun and the rest.. were not directly controlled by a hero
