Gotta admit hahakocka, that's a really nice interview. I think tho that editing music in between was not that great of an idea. It makes you lose your focus on what's being said in the interview. But glad to hear Romero speaking about himself and his music, really interesting.
And lol, 1st Heroes had it's tracks made in the bathroom. Tears rolling.

Thanks! Yes i didnt put the tracks in a good way i think! Now i would make it in an other way. In the new interview if will be any  i will put the music and songs in a new way.

Apparently, you've heard of Ylaya and Freyda before.
I've also seen Anastasia and Irina and they're quite boring as well.

Just to make it clear ... nearly every effing character in H5 and H6 were boring and dull. The only ones I actually liked were Markhal in H5 and Sandro in H6 - Dance Macabre.

Godric was predictable yet likable. Same goes for Wulfstan and Duncan, they all had their kind of charm. I liked Zehir as an energetic youngster, brilliant yet impatient with a love for explosions One of the few who had a sense of humour. Raelag was also enjoyable as his alter ego but kind of grew boring when he changed. And his infatuation with Isabel or total deception by Biara were so stupid I can only blame the writers.. Not that he was the brightest in the bunch but those were too much. Markal was amazing at what he did ^^ But his brilliance was overshadowed by the others' stupidity, he could not have gotten away with his plan in any other universe. But that was kind of the point, how obviously evil he was in everyone's face  Plus he was insane and was dripping with sarcasm, it just worked. Findan seems to have been created for teh lulz and Freyda, Ylaya were filler characters. I don't see how else one can look at their bland characters
Ubi tried to go unconventional with some characters which.. didn't work as well as the conventional ones. For instance.. a misunderstood warlock who fights for his love, that's just lame. I am not alone in believing that such factions require a bad@ss hero who can be as evil or powerhungry as he wants. Screw the misunderstood, we want to have some fun. Markal did just that, same goes with Sandro. Speaking of which, Markal was a good choice of unconventional necromancer. Yes, he followed an archetype as well but he was not alike the other necromancers I have known. On the other hand, going conventional doesnt always work. Take Gotai, he was what you'd expect an orc to be but he didn't have enough personality to engage you. Same with Findan. Arantir was the epitome of an Ashan necromancer but at least he was well made for what he was. Plus, he had an awesome avatar of death so we can forgive him for having a one-track mind Perhaps part of his appeal was that he was so commited to his mission, at the cost of everything else. I quite liked him in dark messiah, he had the air of a man you don't want to mess with.
I believe that the adventure packs reminded us that you can't go wrong with a classic hero, as long as they don't take themselves too seriously. Crag simply works as a less than bright barbarian who is in it for the fight and the gold, he's just fun. And a traditionally evil necromancer like Sandro beats an aschetic buddhist defender-of-the-balance necromancer every day of the week.

I agree with pretty much everything Elvin has said here above. Especially the parts about Arantir and Markal, who were perhaps the best written characters of Heroes 5.
But I'd like a little mention at least for Rolf Hangvul. Who played his role as "The power behind the throne" well.
I also kind of like Kraal in Heroes 6. What's his name, the Goblin, got pretty old pretty fast. And Sandor's try-harding made him obnoxious. But Kraal worked out pretty well. His levelheaded, laidback and pragmatic acceptance of what it is to be an Orc made him funny and lovable to me, especially with the shrugging way he delivers most of his lines. It is just a shame that he needed Sandor or Slava to play the character off of. I'm pretty sure he would not have worked so well on his own.

Rolf seemed like a poor substitute for Markal. Easy-to-spot bast@ard but lacked in wit, sense of humour or even the diplomatic smoothness that he was supposed to have.
Kraal though was a lot of fun, I'd follow him  And like you said, the reason he pulls it off so well is because of his difference in ethos and experience with the other characters. It gives him room to deliver his lines and he does deliver them well

I agree that he was less smooth to Wulfstan, who was on to him before the campaign starts. Rolf hated Wulfstan's guts, because Rolf thought he was a threat. I remember him to be more smooth towards King Tolghar and Freyda, but maybe I'm remembering things wrong.

I agree with you Elvin.
How would Heroes 5 campaign be a lot better?
1. Isabel does not get redeemed. A female version of Warcraft Arthas is very enjoyable to watch. Would have loved if Isabel was the main villain of HoF and ToTe and not Biara. Maybe she can create her own chaos on the sidelines but definitely not the main villain.
2. no Raelag-Isabel showmance
3. Duncan is the main character of HoF Haven and later inherits the throne. Freyda can die along with her father.
4. no Ornella and Kujin. Campaigns are supposed to be for Hero development. I want to use that same hero in all 5 missions. Maybe we can have Kujin but Gotai (or Ornella to Arantir) should be in all 5 missions.
5. Zehir's voice actor should have been back for ToTE.
6. A second Elven campaign. Preferably in ToTE.
Maybe we can make Gilraen or Vinrael as the main hero? Yeah, regular hero gets promoted to campaign hero.

Uh, exactly! This is what I meant!
He's a terrible actor With his gruff tone and face, he could not pretend if he wanted to. But he's not even quick on his wit or even softly spoken. Now Hangvul on the other hand.. this guy is closer to Saruman. You can tell that he is not buying the story but he's playing along. He also speaks before the king, whom he has wrapped around his little finger. He should be the one to have the silver tongue special.
