The most tragic mockery within our known history of mankind was clearing Hillary Clinton.
Comey said: 1. "Extremely careless"
"Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information."
2. "Should have known"
"There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton's position, or in the position of those with whom she was corresponding about those matters, should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation."
3. "Especially concerning"
"None of these emails should have been on any kind of unclassified system, but their presence is especially concerning because all of these emails were housed on unclassified personal servers not even supported by full-time security staff, like those found at agencies and departments of the United States government -- or even with a commercial email service like Gmail."
4. "Still obligated to protect it"
"Only a very small number of the emails containing classified information bore markings indicating the presence of classified information. But even if information is not marked 'classified' in an email, participants who know or should know that the subject matter is classified are still obligated to protect it."
5. "Generally lacking"
While not the focus of our investigation, we also developed evidence that the security culture of the State Department in general, and with respect to use of unclassified email systems in particular, was generally lacking in the kind of care for classified information that is found elsewhere in the government.
6. "Hostile actors"
"We do assess that hostile actors gained access to the private commercial email accounts of people with whom Secretary Clinton was in regular contact from her personal account. We also assess that Secretary Clinton's use of a personal email domain was both known by a large number of people and readily apparent."
7. "Sophisticated adversaries"
"She also used her personal email extensively while outside the United States, including sending and receiving work-related emails in the territory of sophisticated adversaries. Given that combination of factors, we assess it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton's personal email account."
Comey july 5, 2016 said: To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now.
thanks for being clear

If Hillary becomes POTUS will it be called gross negligence or extreme carelessness when she keeps the nuclear codes on her private server in Chappaqua?

3 days later Comey announces Clintons clear
*Mic Drop*
I'm out, snow this. Nothing I can do. It's not like we have military grade access .. What else can I do but say screw it? Move on with my life and be happy with what they let us have. Which I am able to admit, we have a lot of great things for now.
[edit misread ]
They changed the law, and brushed everything else under the carpet right in front of our eyes.

If the crap is completely made up, no. In this case it doesn't seem to be. The line is quite clear so if you find it "silly" to step down from a government position just because you are a suspected criminal, I'd suggest you move to the Balkans - it's exactly how the local corruption-ridden political "class" thinks, you'll love it.

FBI did not change any laws, the person claiming this doesn't realize what the standards even are.
“It would have been a real long-shot to shoehorn Secretary Clinton’s conduct into the existing federal criminal laws,” says Stephen Vladeck of the University of Texas School of Law. He continues "There isn’t even a clear prohibition of unsecure communication of classified information. So I think there’s a really wide gap between what the average person on the street assumes is illegal and what’s actually illegal in this area.”

Whether it's completely made up or "doesn't SEEM to" is irrelevant: just because the crying is LOUD doesn't mean there is any substance; there is an ongoing witch-hunt against Clinton, and for a very long time now.
No, it's simple, really: if you are investigated by the FBI and they don't find enough to bring you to court or at least for indictment, you are cleared. I mean, that's the purpose of an investigation: to clear the situation. The result canNOT be, either they find something or they don't, but in the second case it should be enough that there was an investigation and you should resign anyway. That is completely silly. Because in that case it would be better to resighn in the first place, because that's the best that can happen to you.
Lastly, I have a problem to understand your logic: wouldn't someone who'd resign, although there wasn't any substantial evidence against them, absurdly proving their (over)-qualification for the job? "Look, they didn't find anything, because we covered it up good enough, but I see that it was a big mistake I made, and that means I shouldn't hold that office." Give the girl a cookie and let her work, I'd say.

validated by numerous sources normally otherwise considered reliable in any other respect.
And swept everything else under the rug in front of the American public. There are people serving time right now for much less under the same offences. But again, there was more to her situation than mishandling classified information and burning schedules. The public is angry about that one aspect, when there is likely loads of violations revolving around the Clinton foundation etc..
The FBI has gave her the without intent card. I can't say I know if they have or have not physically modified the writings of the law. I will look into that some time but....
I really give up caring. Again this is a disappointing relief. I am done, and I turn my back on my leaders. I am already under the umbrella of blame by their actions causing a majority of the world to label their hatred and distolerance towards "Americans"

Load of BS is all I can say to this. As much of a load of BS as Trump's border wall.
And I still haven't seen even a remote answer to the quetion why the US have so many people in prison, paying a fortune for doing so, and wtf is wrong with their laws, their population or their politicians.

Here's the god damn answer to that question:
The US gets the trash of the trash and has to deal with it. The other countries have so far been fortunate enough not to get the trash or been forced to change its snowing laws because they blunder for every snowing missdeed against those who try to live life according to the law and thus the prisons won't be filled.
Happy?

More BS - loads of it. Oh, the nonsense written!
And it's strange that the sources for the FBI changing the law are so obscure - you'd expect Fox News to get out of their way, crying foulplay with spittle flying out of their collective mouth, wouldn't you.

They crowd the prisons with minor (drug) offenders. USA has 5% of the world population, but 25% of the prisoner population. Just looking at this graph tells you that the "Tough On Crime"-laws implemented in the 1980's are a part of what has led to this lunacy.
In addition the prisons are now a business, who lobby for even tougher laws so the incarceration rate only increased. the system is deeply flawed.

Sounds like you two should head over to America and civilize them to proper jailing.
Or you could look at Sweden which treats prisoners to 4-star hotel quality life, salary while jailed and with good behavior your time spent in jail gets shortened to 2/3.

You don't seem to understand that it isn't a question of "proper jailing" but a question of crime prevention.
I mean, if you'd make laws handing out prison sentences for using the f-word in public, you'd not make sure language get less profane, but instead make sure, everyone becomes a criminal sooner or later and your prisons would fill.
Also - if you have vast slums and a certain percentage of people living basically outside of your "normal" society, prohibiting things there's a high demand for is simply creating a lot of dangerous jobs promising a lot of money and status, coming with the price of living outside of the law, but that's where they live anyway, so what?
Interestingly enough, a lot of people in the US are seeing that when WEAPONS are concerned. Prohibiting firearms IN THE CURRENT USA (that is, with the existing problems) won't reduce the amount of firearms coursing in the public or gun-related violence; it will just create new "jobs" and increase the market price per piece.
However, they don't see it when it comes to sex and drugs, even though they had a test run with the prohibition, and that's why their prisons are full. Silly laws are creating career opportunities for the dregs of society (instead of the government taking control of the market and decriminalizing it).
In fact, the US declared "War on drugs" (and are at war with Sex as long as they exist), and they've lost that war and suffer the consequences, although they still try to maintain the illusion they'd still be in the fight. Declaring that war in the first place was a really silly decision. It's as silly and hopeless as the war against homosexuality that is led with boot camps and brainwashing operations. Completely and utterly stupid.

(having trouble validating this)
Comey is under congressional probe now
Must answer 8 questions by Monday.
Quote: House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte has a lot of questions for FBI Director James Comey, given the news that Comey won't recommend criminal charges against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for her mishandling of classified information.
"It is clear that Secretary Clinton possibly jeopardized the safety and security of our citizens and nation through her use of private email servers," the Virginia Republican said in a Tuesday statement. "None should be above the law, and the American people need to know that federal law enforcement is taking this misconduct seriously."
Goodlatte "raised several concerns" with Comey in a phone call and peppered him with questions in a letter following up on that conversation. The inquiries centered on how Comey concluded that Clinton shouldn't be prosecuted for "gross negligence" in light of his conclusion that she showed "extreme carelessness" in handling classified information, including top-secret military information.
"If any other American with a security clearance had placed such sensitive information at risk, is there nothing the FBI would have done to recommend sanctions against such person's extreme carelessness?" Goodlatte wrote.
Clinton: In russia using an unsecured device with top secret info... Hmmm sounds accidental to me!!
