The website crashed once again... I only managed to redeem by beta-code. -_-
How does Galaad say? Potato servers.
P.S.: when should the actual beta-key arrive? As I understood, I just "secured my access" with the code they sent via email. Strange.

You should check your Uplay account. As far as I understand, "securing access" means adding Heroes VII beta to your game list.

Checked it 3 times, nothing resembling H7 beta...
As I understand, they should send a second e-mail with the actual code to activate the beta in Uplay...
The last time I was able to access the blog I wasn't the only one with this problem.

No H7 for me. No Beta, no full game until I get a better PC  .
I will be reduced to empty comments on HC and SC, when others enjoy the game and I am left behind ....

Well, if I really want to I can get a new PC with a new video card, it's just that it's not really worth it. I got my current PC only 3 years ago, and I don't want to spend hundreds of euros on a new one (with a new video card etc) just because I want to play one game . It runs other games fine (H6 included), it's just...H7 is too heavy.

For me it's the opposite, H6 runes like ass and H7 runs smooth at 60.
I guess that's what I get for having a AMD system...

One of the new maps in the beta is called Fire and Blood and has this description:
The Sahaar desert is one of the most inhospitable regions of Ashan: scorching hot during the days, freezing cold during the nights, with little food and even less water. Yet ancient tales speak of lost mines, relics of forgotten heroes, and Dragon citadels buried under the sand. There are fortunes to be made across the blistering sands -- if one is strong enough to survive their countless trials, of course.

More like that the description reminds one of certain regions, like Dorne (the south region of Westeros). Maybe even to the East, regions such as Qarth etc.

I think it's a pretty standard trope of fantasy though, not something GRR Martin invented ^^
What I had in mind when I wrote this description was actually the desert regions of the old Might & Magic RPGs, such as the Invading Desert of MM1, the Desert of Desolation of MM2, Forsaken Sands of MM3, etc. I even used "blistering" to describe the sands because I always loved the name "blistering heights" in MM3 ^^
