It's third Heroes from Ubisoft (and we had Dark Messiah, Clash, Duel and MMX meanwhile) and every, every game renames established units/classes every time and not to correct mistakes (which would be right move) but to add more confusion and also just to "reinvite the wheel".

My two personal favourites:
Ranger, a name that has appeared many times before in Ubi Heroes, games, was translated to something like "The one from the forest."
Earth shaper, another name that appeared earlier (in Heroes VI), was translated to "Gu¶larz Ziemi." "Ziemi" is Polish Genitive for "earth," while "Gu¶larz" is a kind of sorcerer that took part in pre-Christian, Slavic rituals of summoning souls of the dead (he took part in a feast called "Dziady".) This is a bad translation, as Slavic sorcerer has not that much to do with Nomadic-like tribes of Orcs of Sahaar.

Why shouldn't we? It is a valid topic! When bad localization breaks the game, when 3rd partie Ubi representatives hire monkeys to do their work. When after 4-6 games, most of them beeing larg on text, they still can't maintain a freakig glocery, then this is a valid topic. Not everybody knows or wants english in their games, some want the game to be in their native language. And Poland, Russia and Eve Czech republic are freaking HUGE MARKETS for this game. Hell even the biggest of them all.

Perfectly valid point, I just hope devs see it.
The reason I asked to not start this topic is akin to "don't pour salt on my wound", for loca is possibly the only topic regarding which it's difficult for me to remain calm. Russian localizator(s) for me are like Erwan to some of HCers.

Those necro classes look the same as before to me.
What bothers me is that each class has two heroes max, with some having only one hero! How hard is it to come up with a few more heroes

I wonder how Portuguese copy looks like. Good is not something in my list. I'll do a bit of research, because I need to see awful things on Mondays.
Eeehhh, probably for the best I couldn't find any image of this game in Portuguese. Probably no one bought it already.

Adding 2 cents from my side of the barricade.
Vindicator is tranlated as "defender". Really. An offensive class (which, btw, had good translation in H5) is called a Defender. Facepalm.
Blademage is translated "battle mage" while Battle Mage - as "Warrior Mage". Great.
For God knows why, Archons are "lords, rulers". HOW?! JUST HOW?!
As a side note: Skeleton upgrade is simply "skeleton-warrior", completely ignoring a very peculiar word "hoplite".
Earth shaper? "The creator of Earth's face", something like this (a shame really, for H6 (IIRC) and the Russian community already did correct translations).
Rangers became "forest scouts". Bravo.
Starsingers? "Those who sing to the Stars". REALLY?!
Dungeon Heroes... not only the racial is translated incorrectly, but 4 OUT OF 6 CLASSES ARE TOTALLY SCREWED IN TERMS OF CORRECT TRANSLATION. Gosh, they outdid themselves.

@Steyn Just imagine the rage from fans if they copied even more of the current specializations just to create extra heroes... It would make factions even more similar than they already are
(That based on the track-record of them rather just copying than creating stuff so far in the game^^)

Ah, so that's why the Cabir had no toy  .
I'm browsing through them now, but there is little to see. I was hoping that each hero class would at least have a unique skin, like in H6. You can easily tell the Vindicator, Knight and Paladin apart, not to mention the other classes (Inferno's Pyromancer, Warlock and Demonist for example, click).

I think that meaning of the original greek word archon is 'lord' or 'ruler' (Elvin help ), but I also believe that it was used as a title, too.

CZ gems
Sword Master -> Mistr Meče (which is correct)
Blade Master -> Mistr Meče (Two units with the same name? Ok at least they are not in the same faction.. Oh wait)
Sentinel -> Strážce (Ok correct)
Guardian -> Strážce (obliviouse to the fact that they are Female, we have to units of the same name in one faction? Result Yey I have a population of 33 Justicars per week Want to play With me as I play Haven?)
For those who now slavic languages, some more gems
Blade Dancer "Mečový tanečník" Directly back translation Swordish dancer
Justicar -> Soudce, Back translation Judge.
