Yes, DoC was amazing in strategical depth and artwork, trumping Heartstone and other wannabees any day of the week. Had only Ubisoft seen all that potential and hired a competent team, the game could've received more popularity and be competitive on the market. This snowty Blue Byte dev added very little content, made crucial economical changes and mistakes, and pretty much rendered the game unplayable with all the crashes, especially as of late with this last patch (or so I hear). Incompetence all around.

Being a huge card game fan (long time MTG) I loved DoC. Shame it's not got the population required but I think they actually had a pretty big tournament in Paris at one point? Was a cool game wonder if I can get any information on what is happening with it.
On to other news and the top 5 changes people requested.
Thanks all for the lists you've provided. A LOT of it was in line with my thoughts anyway, and I only overlooked 1 thing which was this level cap which I made sure to bump up on my priority list to be addressed.
We have meetings today and tomorrow with all the key players and should I be able to I will make sure to keep you all updated on anything I'm allowed to. Ideally for me I would, like I mentioned before, provide some sort of pencil'd road map. We'll see what we can do in this regard and it might be something that doesn't happen. But I think it would be good.
Make sure to keep me up to date on any crashes or insane memory leak/ram usage issues and as always you can email me or PM here other bugs and suggestions and I will make sure I get back to you with my thoughts.

Yesterday I had a day to devote to the game, so I was up for a long game session. At some point, I noticed I had made a mistake so wanted to load a game about two turns before. Loading took a long time, so I decided to check the Task Manager and see what was up. The game at that point was consuming 6.5 GByte of memory and though it's a lot, there was still some room left. Despite this, the game crashed before it finished loading.
I fired up the game again, Task Manager still open, and loaded the save game again. After initial launch, the game consumed close to 4 GByte of memory, which increased to about 5.5 GByte after the game had finished loading (which was quite bit faster than when it crashed before). I let the game be for a bit as I had to take care of something else and when I got back to the game a handful of minutes later, the memory usage had dropped to 3.8 GBytes. I didn't suffer any other crashes or issues for the rest of the afternoon and evening.
I can see if I can find the error logs of the crash.

When i open the game, it consumes 7gbs and when it gets stable it remains at 6-5.5 gbs.
But I'm playing on laptop, and although i have a 8 gb ram, my graphics is a 2gb meh- nvidia.
Is this consumption normal?

2gb RAM isn't a lot if you want to play games like H7. I have 12gb and notice the loading times are quite long but game runs smoothly most of the time.
The issue with loading a save game and getting high RAM usage has been reported by someone else recently, so it's definitely a bug. I guess it's a memory leak in the saved game data, like the one that was fixed in the 1,2,1 patch.

Send me logs guys because 1.2.1 essentially fixed a major issue that was causing your above description. BUT perhaps there is something else coming up that we can sort out. 6.5gb is too high for sure, unless you're on the biggest map for like 5 hours straight with the entire map revealed and 20 heroes or something. Then maybe it's 'normal'

From what I remember, I started on Dungeon map 2 yesterday. When I fired up the game early afternoon, I had already cleared the subterranean part for as far as I could (area directly accessible from the starting Town), as well as the Haven side of the surface map during my session the day before.
While playing, I cleared the Academy side, conquered all Towns (including the Town of Southgate) and cleared the entire map, before finishing it. Then I proceeded into map 3. I had cleared the entire lower layer and most of the top layer, Sylsai was already out and about and I was about to defeat Sorshan. At that point I realised I made that mistake and loaded the game, which crashed. I don't recall exactly how long I was ingame at that point, maybe 3 hours straight.
That being said, I did a lot of combat restarts, mainly due to the Medusae. Since they usually opened the fight, getting a lucky hit and incapacitating a dangerous enemy unit right from the start was too nice to pass up. But I will try and find the log file and mail it to you.

Yes, I have 1.2.1 installed.
Funny thing too, because both the 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 patches arrived when I had run into a situation ingame at that moment that caused technical problems - and in both cases, the patches resolved the issues.

Hm...
I wonder whatever happened to Blindness status that some light spells used to apply when skilled?
It doesn't exist anymore - and this makes Troglodyte ability completely useless. Dan, could you check please?

I can get you the logs; the save games might be harder as I'm already far into map 4 by now and I've been recycling those save games (10 auto-save and 1 manual save).

Doesn't it help against the abilities of the medusa and basilisk?

Nice find Stevie I've forward it on and get back to you. Doesn't look like anything TOO crazy regarding memory/ram but something that certainly needs addressing!

Well, I have been working in a testing Q&A department for nearly a decade now, and I can tell from experience that oddities like that can point to a bigger problem, with runaway conditions .

Just to chime in about doc. I really loved that game and it was originally why I had high hopes for H7. The artwork was amazing and when haven and academy started looking like the cards I was like I had a sweet academy deck that was a lot of fun. It's too bad some cards like the dragon golem and blademage didn't make it as units.
I didn't really like the building cards though and I kinda was over it shortly after. If they would have added some more factions i woulda came back to it.

Outside of MTG i'm enjoying Hex. If people like Digital TCGs I highly recommend it. They just settled their law suit with MTG so I hope they can move forward now. Cool art work and it's MUCH cheaper to get a tier 1 deck than Magic. plus being entirely digital is easier to balance.
