It doesn't matter if NWC had unique visuals or not, what matters is people were used to a certain environment and it got drastically changed.

so now nwc's visuals don't matter. huh...i think that's the "people's" problem though. i was used to the visuals and the "certain" environment back in the day too, being a steady fan since heroes 2 and replaying heroes 3 till h5 came out, yet i didn't raise hell about the change of visuals. or the setting.

Are you talking from H2 to H3 or from H3 to H4?

Obviously, but your argument is still tenuous at best, since the the only games that keep the same aesthetic from their predecessor were H2 and H7 (and NWC H5 had it been made)

Yep. But unlike the movie version and the Academy version is just influenced by the middle eastern architecture and looks like its own thing.

I might but I don't know since I actually like HOMM7 directions in game design despites its many flaws (balancing and overboard implementation) and the patching ryhtms so far gives me actual hope of it becoming the best HOMM of the series.
I even consider Limbic as courageous and pretty serious. Don't you think I might only create more tension ?
(ok now I'm trolling alrigh't)
(but I do mean it)
My only redeeming quality is that I do not extend my opinion of Limbic to Ubisoft which came so very close to destroy a given succesfull franchise by being too cheap.
(See I m one of you , I hate ubisoft too ! =) )

I think he was comparing mostly the fact that in prior to all Fallout 4 current success and not as many problems as H7 showed so far, both have the same price (in his region, I think). Player base for H7 could be marginally better if not due all the if-nots – or if the game was cheaper.

Fallout 4 is nowhere near in the state in Heroes VII is. Sure, it has its own gameplay flaws and probably has many bugs, but at least it improved in some aspects. And it has more reasonable price (when you look at the whole game) rather than Heroes VII was.

Just because homm3 is 2d doesn't automatically mean it has a good graphics or that it is aesthetically appealing. That’s just nostalgia. I played 3 after 5 and I found the visuals in 3 ugly. The towns are OK, but the units are especially ugly. Homm5 has much better visuals despite being 3D. And IMO civilization 1 and the SSI/Goldbox games like Pool of Radiance have far superior visuals than Homm 3.
