Hard to say, knowing that making graphics is way longer than scripting. The guy in charge with design, first has to do quality sketches, show to everybody several nice variants, and only then focus on one of them, after leader approval. The guy fixing codes doesn't have to create several codes, he only uses one scripting language and is quite easy to do it. My guess is that they don't have enough TESTERS in their team, and testers should be quite the triple of the other two teams.
The billions of possibilities in a game require a lot of people trying and looking for bugs.

I agree. I always liked H4 I still play it occasionally to, despite the flaws.
Yep me too! It's because of its differences that makes it so fun. They kept the heroes feel to it, they just didn't try to top h3 in my eyes. And why should they? That game was/is great and they knew it. A different approach was needed in the next installment.
If only we coulda gotten the NWC heroes 5... snow Ubi for trashing their hard work.

From my personal experience in commercial, industrial software, about 40% of the total budget of a project has to go into testing. Anything less will hamper quality, anything more will not yield much more in bugs found. I dare to wager the testing budget is far less for this game than 40% of the total budget.

I agree with that, H4 may had some disconcerting changes but to me that game feels much more like Heroes than 6 or 7.

Haven't you heard? The customers are the main testing team!

Yep, it's really come to this. You pre-order and test it for them as part of your playthrough. It would've been a tad more acceptable if the game had an appeal of its own, but that ain't the case.

In such times, I think this is inevitable BUT requires a lot of additional testing time planned in the game advertising and release. From what I see, there are people experiencing constant crashes, and people saying the game run smoothly. Which clearly boils down to each one game configuration -OS, video card, sound card, memory etc-. This aspect also implies a few dozens of setups and is critical.
I also experienced it with wog, upgrading from XP to win 7 on old computer then the game was unplayable, freeze upon sound emission, and now with new computer not a single crash in several months.

Hello guys! I lurked this forums for years, being a huge HOMM fan, one of those that also likes HOMMIV and thinks it's actually a great game.
I think HOMMVI sucked hard, I really didn't like that game, even though I tried hard to play it.
Yet, for some reasons, I'm really enjoying HOMMVII (probably because my favorite class is the Academy, that was totally skipped in HOMMVI), and I don't find it as bad as a game as most guys say in this forum.
I just wanted to add my 2cents, I think the game is quite enjoyable, and I hope it become better and better with updates and who knows, expansions.
Might and Magic X Legacy from LIMBIC was great, so I have some trust on this company.
Let's hope for the best.

Yeah, it actually felt like it could have gone somewhere unlike H7 which is stewing in its own mediocrity.

I wish that to, especially given where they were going with the factions.

I must say playing the campaigns now....I am enjoying H7.
Since the latest patches the graphics are actually quite good: Orc's desert map; Sylvan cliffs with lava map; Necro map 2 with underground and eery atmosphere....for me graphics are so important for immersion, so am pleased. Haven't delved into multiplayer yet, but not sure how this is going, seems like the same skill builds are always picked....maybe Elvin will make us a duel map again?

Eventually I traditionally take my time before creating one, enough for the dust to settle. I assume there will be a lot of things to rebalance after the bugs have been dealt with, from spells, abilities, units..

@gomaki
Hi, could you please add (after some time, after fixing buggs) some special ability for kappas. I liked theme in H6 but now, without any special ability in H7, they are like totally wasted potential. I want them to jump as behemoth does (of course much weaker) or something like that.
Thanks for all kappas and sanctuary fans.
P.S: Some other creatures would welcome some unique ability as well.
