That's an interesting outlook. Sadly, one that would be limited to 4-5 starting factions in vanilla, given ubi's pockets.

JollyJoker said: I mean - if you think about it, this is offering so MUCH in terms of varied play: the Construct heroes are somewhat Steampunk/Dreadnought stuff; the Summon guys are the really MAGICAL guys, and the Beastmen the MIGHT side of Academy.
Even if they did this they would probably handle it like they did with the wolf duchy thing. I.e. we would get one aspect per game which I personally do not like as it does not represent Academy as a whole. This really is a problem with the lore though, part of the fact of being stuck on one unchanging continent.

The idea of subfactions have been raised before here - and I approve it, to a certain extend. I see it has its merits, however, the sad part is we'll never see it because $$$$
Personally I've been toying with the idea of coming back to 4 creature tiers - just like in H4, where creature power scaled better than with the current 3-tier system - adding a creature choice on each tier except tier 1 (maybe, maybe not). With a dwelling demoslish system, players would be forced to make choices when building their homegrown army - choices that could lead to diverse gameplay within a faction! - while at the same time being able to use conquered castles of the same faction (it was infuriating in H4 to enter a castle and find the other creature dwellings of each tier).
For instance, a 2/2(1)/2(1)/2(1) model would have the same number of creatures than H7, but with a greater strategy variety. Or you could be smart and ambitious and aim for a 3(2)/3(2)/2(1)/2(1) model while not enforcing upgrades on every single creature (that's something very silly that H3 'stablished', I really wish they would go back to the H2 style).
Subfactions could come into play in this system too if you wish, ofc.

since heroes 7 seems to be dead i guess i will switch back to civilization 5.
how did ubisoft manage to release a game in worse state than heroes6? i could play there at least duel/multi with my friends or could play skirmish with an ai which was less braindead than h7 ai.

I was hoping for the tales of Axeroth (spellcheck) to get me into the game again but no word and it's suppose to be out by the end of the year rofl. Meanwhile they never even mentioned on the website about missing features that were supposedly in the last update. That just baffles me. If they're not going to put any effort into the game there's no reason anyone else should.

because gathering data for the next big patch is so far-fetched.
also, by they way you all acted (like a clique of mean girls that is) to the only person brave and kind enough to be here, it makes sense that no one is here to inform you(by "you" i mean some of us who like the game and the rest 10 persons posting relentlessly about how they hate the game and don't play it/own it).
xmas is almost here so, it kinda makes sense.
but yeah they dropped it. that soon. thank you for your words of wisdom

sigh don't skimp on the sodium chloride there Chris D1 mate, lol
it makes absolutely no difference to me what they choose to do with their piece of mediocrity because the series is finished either way, nor how they react to the valid cyber criticism they're justifiably getting (not least after resorting our lowly old pal argumentum ex silentio),
I observe the lapse in news not just thinking of the rest 10 persons who didn't buy the game (ayy lmao lol) but of the entire community of paying and potential customers being made a fool out of being stonewalled with no information over the Christmas,
but if a fictional data gathering excuse works for you then it sure as hell works for me lol

Yeah, gathering what is broken and needs fixing is soooo hard: Shadow Council and few threads on forums.

Thank God that we have regular fan-girls in here too, to balance things out

If it was his job to visit this forum, then he should've been prepared for different kind of reactons, considering the "release" of the game. And if they care about you (by "you" I mean some of you who bought the beta game), they should inform you despite the reactions. Plus, those were legitimate questions and comments

I was hoping H7 would be a good game aha ha ha ha ha.
Given how we have not heard anything from the dev team I think it is safe to say H7 is deader than H6.

Right now there are more people playing H6 than H7, so yes the game is less alive than its predecessor. There are more people playing H3 HD than both of them though.

That is not a surprise. It may be a rip-off but at least it works. H7 is more akin to an over-priced broken car without tires.

I remember those days back in Paris when we sat down with Erwan le Breton, listening how he expected Heroes 7 to be hailed as the new pinnacle of the franchise. Instead I'm now pondering whether Heroes 7 is actually the new bottom, and I'm stating this devoid of any feeling of cynicism as it's been long ago since I've made peace with the situation and moved on. I fail to see how this mediocre entry at best could keep a crowd interested even granted all technical issues miraculously vanished by the time support ended, which going by how badly the game was received would not be surprising to be that far off. The only unanswered question remaining is if we'll ever see an expansion, or at the very least if anyone even wants one. As far as I'm concerned, the sooner it ends the better. Delaying the inevitable will only prolong the misery unnecessarily.
