If Limbic will develop the H8, I will buy it. I still trust them, and I am sure they learn from their mistakes. If Ubi entrust the H8 development another dev team, I will definitely skip it.
As game developers they are responsible for most of the game, and in my opinion they demonstrated a complete lack of inspiration, H7 being the most uninspired of all Heroes games, and if you ask me, for them using a tried engine and a sub-minimum of creature abilities, while the combat arithmetics were streamlined and simplified, there are WAY too many bugs in the game.
They also had Legacy to "train".

Okay, so in patch 1.7 they are removing the level cap (about damn time). However, no word has been given about adjusting the XP gain - when this issue was raised, they both went hand in hand. Will they fix this too or will it be yet another half-hearted effort from Ubilimbic?

Precisely this. There are no attenuating circumstances in their case, only aggravating.

I will not pre-order it either. I will wait the reviews once the game has been released, maybe try a demo. I won't push money their way until I know they've stepped up and created a game worthy of the title. I thought they had it with H7, but still they managed to botch that one.

I'd definitely hope that H8 gets a new developer. Limbic has clearly shown they are not up to the task with the big failure known as H7. Then again given the low sales of H7 I find it hard to believe that there will be H8(unless some company buys the rights from Ubi).

Oh, I did try a refund, my first ever actually. But I got declined by Steam because of 2 factors: one, I exceeded the refund timeframe which was 14 days and two, playing the beta itself was considered game time and it's bye bye if you have over 2 hours. I was unaware of these and by the time I tested the beta it was already too late, reasons more why preordering sucks donkey balls.

As did I. Barely had fifteen minutes of beta time before I realized just how broken it was. No trouble with the refund there.

From gomaki, along with the info that something "major" is coming to the skill wheel. Something that will redefine classes.
At least, this is what he is implying.
ChrisD1 said gomaki a list of weird stuff like bugs and other things he though was not making sense, like creature abilities etc, and some heroes not being the right class. This was part of gomaki reply: "Chances are a lot of these characters are certain traits due to 'lore' reasons which we can't mess around too much with, however a bigger change that we have planned will resolve this."
On the Necromancy part, ChrisD1 said that it was too powerful and gomaki replied this: "Necromancy racial has been changed."

I might be promoting false hope here, but all these are in accordance to what gomaki once said to the celestialheavens forum, about pushing changes he didn't think possible. Now what will happen to the skill wheel, i don't know nor how "drastic" or not the changes might be. From a reply i got from him he told me, after a message i sent him regarding some of my opinions on the game, i got this as part of a bigger reply:
Quote: "So the skill wheel in Heroes 7 (atleast technically) is going to change DRAMATICALLY soon I wont go into too many details but restrictions have been lifted a lot and we've done some big things. Community help on this matter will be of vital importance when I announce the exact details publicly and I hope you will be participating in the subject. "
I don't know more, i am just passing the info on.
All in all, i guess we might see today or tomorrow some more info, since they decided to show us they are alive in the official blog...

True, though this one currently holds to dear life even if barely... At least, the game feels like it is in constant developement... So, i guess since the community helps them to make it, they should keep releasing free stuff

Morning all. Changes to the skill wheel is certainly something that is a hot topic for mine. We've already started the process and there is something I can currently test. I can't go into too many details (though the VIPs know more so it's something that will be a collaboration process) and when I get the 'official' ok internally it's most certainly something i'll share here and will want further input/ideas on.
A point in note. All these skill wheel changes and 'big' things only effect Skirmish. They wont effect campaign and scenario maps for a verity of different reasons. But when It comes to skirmish we have a lot of sway.
These changes are also NOT 1.7 changes, they're future changes, but there is a thought process that some people could help test them before they're pushed live. Something i'll also keep everyone updated on if people would like to dedicate a bit of time to that (and it would be done in PMs if people would like to put themselves forward) Again this is a post 1.7 thing, with 1.7 not being far away depending on testing (all good so far)

lol
so you're going to have two fundamentally different rulesets competing with each other between game modes because of arbitrary problems, that's definitely ideal
well it's not like I was attached to the idea of enduring the compelling tale of Brian Griffin anyway I guess lol
